When Chytil returns, we will.

Cuylle-Chytil-Kakko
Vesey-Wennberg-Goodrow

Don't feed the trolls. Trolling is extremely 2010.
Unless they start working him at center in practice, he's going to slide on the wing on that 3rd line as he did in game 4.

His speed on the wing gives that line a real boost. Wennberg also gives a calming presence on the ice. That will be very important against a physical team.

I don't think we're going to have Chytil in the lineup. I hope I'm wrong and that he plays and contributes for us, but how can you be optimistic about him at this point? We're still a very good team without him.

Fox has 2 banged up knees, 1 maybe worse than the other. It's probably going to take more than 5 days to fully heal. Still, Fox at 75% is better than most d-men in the league. His gift is the way he sees and thinks the game not how he skates or shoots.

We win the special teams battle, we win the series.

I thought that whoever won the car-nyr series would reach the final and I’m sticking to that.

I actually think that playing Carolina before Florida will have its benefits. Carolina did a lot of things well, as does Florida, but defending and surviving Carolina relentless style is a good lead in to facing Florida.

Florida plays a heavier game that’s more creative but there will likely be more of a back and forth flow to this series as opposed to what we saw in the second round.

Carolina controlled possession for large stretches and the Rangers were more opportunistic. There should be more time for possession and less giveaways for the Rangers against the Panthers.

The Panthers are a more creative team with a little more offensive punch but it comes in more traditional waves. We will need Igor to be Igor and outplay Bob and he certainly can.

Conversely, I think Florida playing the Bruins is helpful to the Rangers in that Boston isn’t nearly as strong a team. I really wasn’t in love with the Bruins/Leafs series. I thought that was the weakest series of all of the first round matchups and we saw it during the games.

The Rangers need to be prepared and show up ready to play a solid team game and take an early lead in this series and use home ice to lock up a 1 or 2 game lead early before Florida can make adjustments

Why is everyone so scared of Florida? It’s going to be a tough series. The Rangers have been comeback machines all year and have more talent than them. I’m not really sure what this team needs to do to make fans confident lol
Because Florida is loaded with talent and they’re just as dirty. To be fair the Rangers have lots of talent too and are dirty. Florida’s group of defensemen is better.

On the other hand we have home ice for every game this series, and we have the best goalie left in the playoffs.

I don’t know if that was on him

It wasn’t.

Lindgren had the sick centering pass to scechnikov.

He should have probably held his ground but that puck should never go to that spot.

Lundkvist got benched last night for a 6'5 Russian AHL journeyman.

Petrovic is Canadian.

He also played more last night than Nils did all series.

I may have made that up, but I’m not far off

If course it's Lindgren's fault, lol. Watch the replay again. Aho actually made a perfect pass.

That Wennberg has 1 point in 10 playoff games indicates to me that he isn't cutting it presently at 3C. That whole line has 4 points combined.
He skates well, cycles well, seems to transition fine, solid on faceoffs, obviously defends well, and PKs well; he just seems to completely inept at offense in these playoffs.

I guess with how well our top 6 has been and how much offense we set them up for, it's like, okay fine I guess. But, like, we get more production out of Goodrow so far than our entire 3rd line.

Chytil with his scoring prowess would be so welcome on our 3rd line. Even getting Wheeler in there for some slight added offense would be nice.

That is unbelievable. Wennberg was my darkhorse for these playoffs. He played pretty well with Seattle last year against tough opponents in the playoffs.
Obviously not saying anything shocking but those three need to put up some points especially Wennberg/Kakko
Don't they get matched up against the "weaker" d pairs of the opposition?
Really that line has one goal the Cuylle breakaway goal vs Carolina. The Kakko goal was a gift on a horrendous turnover by the Caps dman Jensen I believe

I do think this is a big reason we could see Chytil back in the lineup for game one assuming his brain is ok
Lavy will lean in his top six but you know he wants that third line to contribute some more
