Eh, what's this, a GDT?
Yes, the first step on the narrow pathway of a glorious comeback has been taken, mainly due to a contingent of rookies. Apparently, they didn't get the memo the Canes were cooked and "just not good enough". Nikishin couldn't have read it anyway yet without a translator.
No, it turns out the newbs want to keep playing and write the final chapter of this season themselves instead of acting-out others' foregone conclusions. It's plain to see they understand it's a win-or-die situation.
It's also clear they aren't superstitious about losing streaks that began when they were all still toddling around drinking from sippy-cups. They just didn't care.
Instead, they cheekily grabbed that old monkey off their teams' back, threw it down on Sunrise ice, and chopped its ugly little head off with their skate where it lay Stanking-up the joint as a most effective plastic-rat repellent, so it's possible they do care to never again being on the receiving-end of that particular Panther tradition.
So thanks to that contingent along with a few steady, reliable vets, Canes stayed alive to have the opportunity to take another step towards glory and higher TV ratings, but this time at home with it's advantages plus the bonus of expunging the memory of back-to-back losses here. If Blake can have his his head almost driven through the end boards and still be game, will the so-far silent vets show they don't care about history or the odds either?
Winning is the only therapy that works, so now that they've been given a little taste and with no monkey-weight, will they stop shying away from these Douchewagons and use the opportunity?
Tonight I guess we'll find out.
