There are breakdowns all over, but you can have breakdowns all over along with tighter checking. The two things aren't the same.It's fine if you think that but I don't think it has anything to do with the games being tighter checking because the games certainly do not appear to be tighter checking. Maybe more physical on the boards/after the whistles but certainly not strong defensive structure. The bigger difference is now they are only playing good teams instead of a mix of good and bad teams.
Some player thrive through this type of hockey (zib) and some melt away to the outside of the ice (panarin)...
I don't think panarin has penetrated the slot a dozen times in this playoffs. Everything is from the outside. That's not injury, that's playing style
