It’s so over. Both races were getting so interesting too.

I wouldn't say it's over, but it feels the Habs have a 3-1 series lead right now. The red wings need this game tonight (and they probably need it in regulation) or else I think the race is virtually over.

Funny to look back now. I think in January, there was a time when 6 teams were separated by something like 1 point, and it seemed we were destined for a photo finish.

Part of me wants Detroit to sneak in for the yzerplan to finally take place. The other part is I want Stevie to come back to Tampa and start scouting our next core to replace Hedman, Kucherov, and Point over the next 5 to 7 years.

I was referring to Demidov joining the team...

Also the negative goal differential was largely caused by the horrible start the Habs had. They lost a ton of games by big margins.
He doesn’t qualify for playoffs

Edit: wasn’t aware of the exceptions.
I thought a contract had to be signed by December 1, like Nylander, to qualify.

Personally, I find it INCREDIBLY entertaining when someone is so smugly self-assured while being so utterly incorrect.
I’m glad it affects you personally then.

But all I was thinking at the time was,
I thought a contract had to be signed by December 1, like Nylander had to, to qualify.

Well done on coming back to own up to your mistake. A lesser man might have done a dirty delete and ran away.

If the following all happen today:
Detroit wins in regulation - 81 pts
Isles win - 80 pts
Columbus wins - 79 pts
Buffalo wins - 76 pts (they went from the depths of hell to being 13th in the east somehow)

Will make the race continue at its current chaotic pace.
