Using generic stats stolen off twitter means nothing. The game was televised and we got to watch it with our own eyes. Wings controlled the offensive zone and whiffed on sure fire open nets. Numerous times. Wings were "off" at first puck drop. They were sluggish and drained from their intense schedule. It happens. Columbus took advantage with their lucky bounces. I'm glad the hockey gods are blessing you for JG.

Doesn't change the fact you're wrong. See you Saturday when both teams will be equally rested for the outdoor gimmick game.

LOL@ Demolished! I sure am glad you guys are finally starting to like hockey.

Always love when random fan of team X uses the my eye test is better than the widely accepted analytics move.

Wings controlled the O zone majority of the game. CBJ had a few lucky bounces that went in. Wings were gassed after playing 4 games in 6 nights. Off nights happen, despite that, this game could have gone another way if the hockey gods didn't award your team a few lucky bounces.... or if hockey gods didn't go against Detroit; a few whiffed wide open net fumbles.

You can tell Columbus is new to the hockey market if their fans think that was "demolished". That was an evenly matched game that could have gone either way.

These two teams are 2-2 against each other so far in their season series. Wings just popped 5 goals in your net back on Columbus ice just last month. Next game will be a statement game, and I expect Wings to come out ahead after they get rested up.
I think you watched a different game than everybody else lol

Trust me, no one in the Wings sub forum is suggesting the Wings deserved to win. Out here in the wild, well there's always one or two.

After the game Ken and Mickey had on the screen the game's analytics showing Wings controlled the zone.
Larkin flubbed the puck at least 3 times. Edvinsson once. Wings were discombobulated, but also controlled the 0-zone play. Both can be true.

They were not sharp since puck drop, but to say CBJ dismantled the Wings is either dishonest or ignorant, or both. (as both can also be true)

To me this looked like CBJ were playing like it was game 7 of the finals, whereas Detroit played this game like they stayed up night boozing because they thought this game was beneath them.

This game still could have gone another way if not for a few lucky bounces. Shots were still even despite Wings playing drunk and half asleep.

Holy superiority complex. Didn't realize I was in a Habs thread.

😂😂. Good stuff. “The game was even despite DRW playing like they were hung over and CBJ played like it was their Super Bowl” 😂

I found this interesting too:

“According to Natural Stat Trick, at 5-on-5, the Blue Jackets dominated play with big edges in shot attempts (58-44), scoring chances (36-19), high-danger chances (25-3) and expected goals (4.76-1.71).

In fact, according to Natural Stat Trick, the CBJ totals of expected goals scored at 5x5 and in all situations (6.58) were both the fourth-most of any team in an NHL game this year (expected goals being a measure of shot quantity and quality in a game).

If you’re not an analytics nerd, what does it mean? The Blue Jackets got to the dirty areas and created quality scoring opportunity after quality scoring opportunity. And as the final score shows, they got rewarded in a big, big game.“

Always love the reasoning of your team is trying harder so I can disregard this game as unimportant. This playoff race will probably come down to a single win or tiebreaker. If the DRW were out hustled and outworked then take the loss and move on. Stop making excuses.
Team who has missed the playoffs for almost 10 years has no incentive to win. Duh
