Demidov is a HAB
Nice.
Now I wait with baited breath if I can get the other guy I was torn on for this pick.
Nice.
Which name is?Now I wait with baited breath if I can get the other guy I was torn on for this pick.
If Buffalo makes those picks there will be rioting in the streets. At LD they have Dahlin, Power, Samuelson. Bryson and Ryan Johnson a first pick in the draft who is still in college. If there is any position of strength LD is it. As for picking Lambert-I think Sabres are past picking troubled or troubling players-they have had enough angst in the dressing room. Passing consistently on RD which other than G is their greatest need? I am sure Kent Hughes or Kyle Dubas would be grinning from ear to ear.Usually start this right after the trade deadline, so a little late on it, but, yes, it's that time of the year again! EARLY BIRD MOCK DRAFT!

Because this is a really lopsided draft with some teams holding 12+ picks and others holding only three, I've joined a few teams.
Here are the partnered teams:
NYR/NYI
Edm/Vegas
Colorado/Nashville
Toronto/Pittsburgh
St.Louis/Calgary
One GM will play both teams.
The Early Bird Draft then will require 27 players.
Ok, draw has been done. Here are the GMs of each team. Some of you got 2 teams because one team had few picks (like Toronto which has 3).

RULES
TIME
Check this thread daily to know when you pick. Person picking should notify the next person up. At that point that team has 6 hours to pick; for example pick 12 makes their pick at 2 pm so pick 13 has until 8 pm to make its pick before that pick gets autoed. There is no clock running from 11 pm-8 am, so if someone picks at 11:30 pm the clock doesn't start running until 8 am. You would have until 2 pm to make a pick if it was your turn. If someone were to pick at 9:30 pm, clock runs until 11 pm, stops then starts again at 8 am. The next pick would have until 12:30 pm.
If you know you won't be available for your pick send someone you trust your pick and they can make it for you.
OPTIONS
Ok, so this draft has a shit load of options. Things like "this has to happen before you get this pick." The option has to be already have happened OR be reasonably expected to happen for the pick to switch teams. For example, Chicago gets Edmonton's 2nd round draft pick IF Edmonton makes the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals. Montreal gets it if Chicago doesn't. Since Edmonton making the Stanley Cup Finals hasn't happened, that pick is going to Montreal. Chicago will get Edmonton's 3rd round draft pick
In the 1st round:
*Arizona gets Carolina's 1st round draft (Montreal is in top 10)
*Columbus gets Chicago's 1st round draft pick (Chicago's pick is top 2 protected, but they are currently not in that spot, so pick transfers)
*Buffalo gets Vegas' 1st round draft pick (Vegas is not in a top 10 position)
*Minnesota KEEPS their 1st round draft pick, and Chicago will get their 2nd round pick (Wild have to make Final Four for Hawks to get a 1st from Fleury trade)
*Anaheim has Boston's 1st round draft pick
*Montreal gets Calgary's 1st round draft pick (they are not in a top 10 position)
*NYR KEEP their 1st round draft pick (In Copp deal for Jets to get a 1st NYR must make Final Four, but Jets get BOTH of NYR 2nd round picks.)
*Buffalo gets Florida's 1st (pick is not in top 10)
*Arizona gets Colorado's 1st (pick is not in top 10)
No trades. Too much work.
I use Cap Friendly, CapFriendly - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps and Pro Sports Transactions, Professional Hockey Transactions Archive for draft order and decisions on options.
For draftees, NHL Central Scouting is where you can get help on players (Mid-term rankings, new one isn't out yet), 2022 Draft Prospect Rankings
Or even Elite Prospects (mostly unranked): Elite Prospects - NHL Draft Center
For auto picks, I use NHL Central Scouting list whoever is the next one on the list, since North American and European players are separated I choose one North American than one European. No goalies.

And I'm pretty sure @NotProkofievian was playing 17 dimensional chess with us all and simply went BPAIf Buffalo makes those picks there will be rioting in the streets. I am sure Kent Hughes or Kyle Dubas would be grinning from ear to ear.
Hopefully he isnt too pissed off at the Buffalo guy... Thats a mock and most go for BPA, he made some nice picks so far.
No, NP wouldn't get upset over that. He's in Finland and it's 5:30 a.m., so he's just sleeping.Hopefully he isnt too pissed off at the Buffalo guy... Thats a mock and most go for BPA, he made some nice picks so far.
Was going to take him hahaDetroit selects Daniil Orlov (LD), of Sakhalinskiye Akuly (MHL).
Welcome back!I should be back online pretty much - the flight to Lisbon was f***ing scary shit (landing in 60km/hr wind the pilot had to drop the plane like a potato on the runway).
Sorry I wasnt able to send a list - got caught in a whole lot of pre-travel mayhem. @MarkovsKnee picked 2 players I liked.
You're bailing!I'm out of my list at the moment, so you boys have fun with the rest of it, @MarkovsKnee can auto me.
You're bailing!
I'm just take over then (no auto).
