I’m really not worried. It’s not just him, there’s absolutely no offense at all happening on this team.
Absolutely right, can't defend, score & keep getting outhustled/outworked. CB98 with that terrible turnover. This team is going nowhere.

"I give up. Kyle, do something."

A wild thing to say in November
Yeah, like fire my incompetant arse!! He is not getting through and it seems they have tuned him out.

Bert and TT have been absolutely terrible at even strength

TT is very similar to getting Saad back a second time. Everyone thinking we were gonna get a much better player than the guy that left. I don’t see it at all.

Bedard in the worst slump of his life and you can smell the lack of confidence on him. Foligno and Donato the only ones who are generating a hint of offence at even strength.

We have no push from the backend especially without Jones. It was anemic even with him. And we have no one other than Bedard who can make a play at even strength and now he’s unraveling a bit.

That Luke comment to the media is definitely odd for November. I definitely think something is gonna have to happen. A move, a call up, something. I don’t see Richardson getting canned but comments like that by him aren’t smart.

One of the most important rules of leadership is to never ever say you dont know what to do even if you dont know what to do!

Gives me vibes to when JC gave up and gave the players the dry erase board to draw up their own play.

I see the same problem in that picture--who is going to go to work getting the puck? Plenty of guys there who want to shoot.

Funny how people are always blaming the coach when he’s dead right on, the players suck bollz, what is he gonna do create 1st liners? The team is filled with 3rd and 4th liners. He’s clearly saying our GM is garbage, everyone siting up there in the office seats watching the game should be fired NOW, before we waste 3 more years and lose Bedard. This is pathetic bottom feeders trash of a team. I don’t understand how people here are so lost and don’t see the root of the problem, it’s mind numbing reading this coach blaming stuff.

Funny thing is this roster is actually upgraded from last season (TT, Bertuzzi, healthy Hall) a more experienced Vlasic. No Korch or Tinordi. Soderblum so much better. Murphy healthy.

And they are worse.

98 is a big reason for that

They aren't worse... this team is much better defensively and in special teams results. They're in tight in almost every game.

They're just worse offensively. And it's more boring. But they're not worse.

Problem is TT is a complimentary winger who can help string plays together when he plays with a good line driver, which he had in Carolina in Aho. In my opinion Bedard at this point of his career (at least so far this season) sort of falls into the same category as Teravainen and I think we’re seeing the result of that

Agreed, and it's not a problem that is easily fixed short of opening the bank and/or abandoning the rebuild strategy of patience. And that's assuming the right player (or players) becomes available in the near future.

A center who can win face-offs would go a long way to make this team better. Hawks are consistently getting destroyed at the dot.

They put the entire enchilada on Bedard...now that he is slumping his entire game has gone to futility without mich danger onatrack..

Maybevtgey need to send hom to Rockford to gain his confidence and scoring (beating goalies with his shot) back?

The team is what it is...Tgeycarecbetter defensively(though now a man down with Jones out of the D that hurts extra energy other D now must use i extra minutes)..but offensively their is just not much talent showing out there.

KdD thought maybe he could accelerate the climb back to contender once he got Bedard...but now that idea has proved wrong...no acceleration of the timeliness to decent contender..It takes 5 years minimum...mote likely 6 o7...This is year 2 with Bedard..We are at least 3-5 seasons still away from being a good team.
Look...they are making slow progress...last season Vlasic emerged...this sesson Kaiser is getting NHL experience.. Next season EdM will get infused and start his NHL experience ...They will have to decide whether Rinzel plays his JR
season at Minn or turns pro but even if turnsvoro probably needs a season in Rockford to adjust to pro game and longer schedule grind.

KK has to prove he will not be a defensive liability...so jury still out on him as to IF he ever makes the Show for a long career or busts.
Levshunov probably 1 more season in 25/26 in Rockford then infused 26/27 season.
I think thatvis proer time forming for the D infusions..

As for forwards.. this team desperately need a big prize in thec2025 draft...We can debate the merits of Martone at wing or Michel Misa atcCenter ..Misa happens to be very good ibdrawszas well as driving pkayxand scoring ..

Martone is goibgvto be a top line wingerxstar..

We cannot get both...With luck hopefully we get 1 of them.

At forward..Nazar will get his chance tostick I the Show next seadon..
Maybe Dach gets his chance too.

The Hawks will have to decide if they let Ryan Greene ,Aidan Thompson and Domenic James go back to college for a final season in 25/26 or turn them pro after tgeir seasons ends this spring..
Given that they are older than guys coningvfron juniors, they coukd be "ready" to infused next season if they turn pro.
But we know tgere is an adjustment to pkayong a pro schedule and agaibstvoro competition...So even if they turn oro,Hawks may decide to Rockfordcthen Nyway forx1 seadon before infusibgvthem to the NHL.

So it is going to take 1-2 more seasons before
before all tgse infusionscconing get jobs that stick in the NHL...plus sone of tge juniors we have drafted the last 2 drafts andthe v2025 draft.

Add 1 more season before it all gels i to finally looking like the edge of playoffs..Ten 1 more seadon before it all gels to contender.
So tgatvisx25/26+26/27 and 27/28 gowong pains still have to be experienced from al the infusions of youth incoming..

By 28/29 tgey should alklbe infused, experienced and we SHOULD be on the edge of pkayoffs..By
29/30 tgey should be a contender.

But I do not see how you can expect much acceleration from such a reasonable timeline .

It is goinpg totake tgat long because it Shoukd take that long ..

2024/25= bottom5 feeder again..Hopefulkybland #1or#2 overall..

2025 /26 sesson finish 5th to10th worst
another to 10 pick ..

2026/27 9-12th worst finish..

27/28 14-15th worst finish

28b/29 they've azwildcard pkayoofcteam pushed 1st round

29/30= full blown contender...L adding a top free agent lije Hossa was for us that outscuscover thectop to full blown Cup contender

Thusciszazreasonablextine frame.

We must Still go through a kot of pain till we reach that pinnacle of success.

Luke is obviously frustrated and should never have admitted that he had nothing to work with but hopefully the attempt at honesty will prompt KD to at least work the phones.

This situation reminds me so much of the day that Bryan Bickell went off the the usual vanilla answer script and admitted that the NHL schedule does not allow him to play at 100 percent every shift. Folks here went up in arms even though true hockey people knew it was 100 percent true. After which it was constantly brought up by those that disliked Bickell. There's a reason that NHL front offices insist on fluff responses to media questions. Unfortunately it doesn't pay to be honest in NHL interviews.

Exactly. This guy is no leader.

That or a bad leader, he is basically publicly saying we are only in November and he is already all out of ideas! Thats a huge morale killer for the players! What the hell, its his job to lead and know. How the hell do you think he can make adjustment to game plan??

If he wants to brainstorm do it privately with assistant coaches and GM.

Even more reason to say he is a bad leader if he lets frustration get the better of him and make a fool of himself publicly! Not to mention throw whole team under the bus... SMH

Bickell was known as a low effort guy from the time he first tried on skates. We all feel bad about his illness, but pretending he spent most of his career as anything but a lazy player, and cashed in on one great playoffs, is as disingenuous now as it was then.

While his offense isn't there, his defensive effort and stats is a quantum leap above last year. He's trying to learn to be a 2 way player this year.....a lot of players can put up 60 points and be a -35 +/-....you don't win that way, you win by playing winning hockey. Hawks need the Bertuzzi's, TT's and Halls to start stepping up offensively.
I've seen Bedard make a like of solid plays this game defensively and in the neutral zon

The game could be summed up by:
- One player killed Hawks. Brannstrom not only scored the winner on a weak 5-hole goal but he also drew the penalty to Kaiser after Brannstrom literally speared Hawks goalie in the nuts. Terrible goal through the 5-hole, terrible penalty call... add a fluke goal by Canucks that went off the skate of a Hawks Dman and Hawks lose.
