Seriously, not gonna bash Eklund here, this just doesn't make much sense. I mean a trade isn't impossible, but they're not just gonna decide he needs to be shopped just over a year after being drafted when he had a solid year last year

Dylan Strome to Philly actually makes some sense because we don't have a top tier center prospect. Laughton got moved to wing, and is in the AHL after getting hurt during training camp. Rubtsov and Vorobyov are in Russia until who knows when. Cousins is a gamer, but is small and may not pan out into a full time NHL player.

If Chayka doesn't like Strome for some reason the next Leaf prospect down the depth chart that's available is probably Kapanen, who isn't quite the same perceived calibre or pre-draft pedigree...

I agree. They knew his downsides and that he might take longer than most top picks when they drafted him. Can't see them giving up this quickly except for an overpayment.

I think its FAR more likely that Ryan Strome of the Islanders is available as opposed to Dylan and the Coyotes.
