I don't see a trade making sense. Off the top of my head, I could see Buffalo being interested if they want to begin their build up to playoff contention, but he'd be in pretty much the same boat as Detroit, albeit with the Sabres maybe being a bit further along with Dahlin, Power and Thompson.
Getting Buffalo's #1 pick in this draft would help reset Detroit's rebuild as guys like Larkin - in this scenario - combined with Kane and DeBrincat would be guys who would age out as Detroit starts to hit their window with a core comprised of guys like Raymond, Seider, Ed, ASP, Kasper, and hopefully Cossa, Augustine, MBN and Danielson.
I don't see Larkin getting moved unless he wants to improve his chances at winning a Cup, and it's not clear Buffalo is going to have better odds than Detroit over the next 5 or so years.
