They would be looking for a two way, 30+ goal center in his prime.
So Dylan Larkin for Dylan Larkin...

High end 2c’s or average 1c’s with term don’t hit the market that often. I think Larkin is severely underrated because he doesn’t have talent around him and has posted very respectable numbers on terrible teams. I think if the Wings can get 3 higher end pieces for Larkin, it could make them a better team and add depth. There would be a bidding war for him if he was available. I have a feeling wings fans just want to hold on to Larkin and hope the team around him improves, but if the right trade presents itself, they may improve overall as a team. Maybe a swap for a 2c who management believe can grow into a 1C and two top six wingers idk. I don’t know precisely how other GM’s value him.

FWIW I don’t think he’s available and I don’t think the Blues would be interested if he was but:

Stl would offer a futures based package similar, but better than what the Islanders paid for Bo Horvat.

Here’s an option with a Leddy reunion as a cap balance and if Detroit wanted to focus the result of the deal on a potential future starter:

1st, Hofer, Bolduc, Leddy. Blues would get Larkin, Husso.

But think it makes much more sense for them to look at McLeod and Buffalo who may want a shake up and have 3 young centers.

Honestly not even remotely in the ballpark. Besides the value not being there, Detroit has 2 of the top 5 goalie prospects in the NHL in Cossa and Augustine and have zero need for Hofer

Flyers should be all over Larkin if he's available. They desperately need a 1C, even if he's not elite. I'm terrible at making trade offers, but I'd offer Frost, Farabee/Foerster, 1st rounder as a base.

I hear ya.

I do gotta say tho Bo Horvat is such a similar player it’s kinda an offer template.

IMO hofer, Bolduc, 1st is a better return than Horvat’s retain 25% + Raty, Beullivier, 1st.

But I don’t think the blues have the best stuff for ya and it doesn’t make sense for us to trade stuff we don’t want to trade ya know. Better suitors are out there who may get aggressive on the bid to compete now or who have that premium asset you need. Doesn’t make sense for the blues to make that type of offer, few years from that.

4 time two-way 30+ goal center on a 8.7M contract with 4.5 seasons which has him for his whole prime.

Cap hit is a little on the heavier side with today's salary cap.

HAHAHAHAHA on the heavy part of the salary cap. He also has 6 more seasons after this one.

Larkin is not available at all. The only way he gets traded is if he says he wants out of Detroit or the Wings get absolutely blown away with an offer which won't happen.

1. I would not call him "2-way" in any shape or form. He is a strong offensive 1C with good puck rushing ability but he isnt a shutdown 2-way matchup Center

2. His contract is hard to fill for any team right now. If detroit does put him on the market the trade would happen in the summer around the draft not right now when most teams are capped out and cant pay for a big piece with big contract while giving DTR the value they would want

Counter offer

To Detroit:
Nylander

To toronto:
Berggren
Lombardi
Copp
2025 3rd
2026 1st
Sub Danielson and its a comparable deal as there is no Cowan level asset in your offer. Also Copp is a worse contract than Jarnkrok

Danielson is 10 times the prospect of Easton Cowan. Lombardi put up a better season than Cowan is currently having in his D+2 in his D+1 in the OHL and is currently doing very well in the AHL.

Dumb take expected from a wings homer lol.

Your offer was bad. Cowan outplayed Danielson in both their D+1 by a wide margin. He wasnt old enough to play his D+2 in AHL so he has to play in the OHL.

Danielson is same tier prospect as Cowan.

Horvat is not comparable as he was a UFA. Larkin has 6 years left on his contract after this one.

Great underrated player. It's a shame he's 28 and has only 5 playoff games played, all as a rookie. Don't see how Detroit trades him, but as their first line center he'll start declining when Detroit eventually becomes good. so not sure the timing lines up very well for his prime and detroit's contention.

Yup, blame the management for not putting up a team around him, instead of the player.
