Friedman: Dylan Larkin requests trade

Gonna be a big something. Even though I do believe that the Larkin deal will be a loss for the Wings on the day of the deal, that doesn't mean he's going to be sold off cheap. McTavish is definitely a depreciated asset so the Ducks probably aren't gonna like who they have to add.

But like I said on the Wings forum to you, I'm not really sold that the Ducks need to trade for Larkin in the first place. Are they in a position to compete in the next three years with their current group with Larkin? The Pacific is wide open for the most part, and Larkin certainly would be a move to cement the Ducks' position.
I don’t think mctavish is as depreciated amongst nhl managers as he is on hfboards. I still think he’d be seen as a pretty big piece

Agree with the rest tho, as for the add to mctavish who knows at this point

And I think this will be a full-blown disasterclass if he's not gone by the start of camp, forget the regular season. I think the bridge is already burnt. Barring some sort of gigantic change of heart, I don't think he will ever suit up for the Wings again. Seems like a gigantic locker room distraction.
What exactly is he going to distract from? Missing the playoffs?

I'll say what I said on our board, I think that DRW fans are underrating Yurov, which they've kind of admitted is a little bit of Kasper PTSD, so it is what it is. I think it's pretty likely that it'll prove out in the next couple seasons that he's not "just a 27 point player" but there's nothing we can do at this point to change minds, which is fine.

We're pretty sure he's going to be in the offer that Guerin has sent, so we'll find out eventually what the opinion of the guy that matters is on that.
If Yurov was any good, Minnesota wouldn't be begging to send him to Detroit to take him...

You know how other fans are unreasonably attached to their prospects? Well, not poor Yurov.

Our timeline has sped up rapidly. Waiting possibly 2-3 years for him to reach his potential is a bigger deal than it was 7 months ago.

If Hughes signs on for 8 more, we can probably take a bit of a breath on this.

Thought that was fairly apparent.
