  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

St. Louis got away with a real good pickup here. They added two young established players that have provided a much needed big shot in the arm for their re-tool going forward for dirt cheap and are making the playoffs because of it. They are going to be a problem for my Jets in the 1st round that I dont want to face.

Total blunder and fumble by the Oilers. Always complaining that they need younger and better forward and blue line depth and here they are just tossing those exact things to the curb in favour of older, slower, and shittier players that cost more and score less. Lol. Galaxy brain asset management.

Terrific pro scouting by the Blues.

And huge mistake by Oilers to discount the possibility of offer sheets. They could have and should have locked up both players before free agency. Or at least matched the offer sheets to save face.
Or if they were committed to what they did, trade them for fungible assets before they were eligible for offer sheets. At least get better draft picks or younger prospects you want.

Really great season for him. So what changed for him in St Louis? Did his game develop in ways it hadn’t in Edmonton or was it just more opportunity and a more supportive environment? Either way a great story and a lesson for teams giving up too early on struggling but young and talented players.

Holloway was averaging 11:22 last season in Edmonton while being bounced around the lineup. He's up to 16:51 this year with the Blues

So yeah, opportunity is likely a big big part of it.
