I was hoping we would keep Holloway, and let Broberg walk.

I didn't understand not matching Holloway, and I still don't.

It's unfortunate to, he loved Edmonton and will miss playing that high intensity playoff hockey
You don’t match Holloway because numerous players have taken discounts to play for the oilers. Paying a fourth liner double is going to be problematic for team cohesion.

Can not believe the Oilers picked Skinner over this guy
I guess you don’t understand team.

They like one dimensional players with zero playoff games?

In terms of more offer sheets, this was a perfect storm caused by Edmonton leaving 2 RFAs unsigned. Had they signed one or the other early, it's unlikely the Blues try what they did.

I don't think we will see more offer sheets. If anything, we will see less because teams might see this is a reminder to be more conservative when it comes to leave players open to offer sheets. Teams already do work to defend against offer sheets like trading RFAs before.July 1st or signing the player asap, but I think this could lead to teams being even more defensive.

Who's the 4th liner you're referring to? Surely not Holloway.

Wouldn't a team mentality be to take care of your own players first instead of going outside of the organization to sign UFAs?
