Value of: Dylan Cozens

Ottawa would be a fool to trade him. What is this. His cap is pretty good until 31 7.1 million and he has size. You arent going to find many guys with that size, skill, and age on a contract that friendly. I'd trade Cirelli right now 1 for 1.

I might do this honestly. Doesn’t help the 5 on 5 offence but if it meant having the space to bring in Ehlers/Rackell/Rust/ect it could make sense to the overall team build.

Cozens isn’t going to be given away and he flashed in Ottawa but also came along with a lot of the issues Sabres fans mentioned.

I wish he would have got some run on Stutzle’s wing because that may be the best long-term fit.

i wouldnt trade him unless it was a deal like cirelli so solid offer. He hasnt worn out his welcome but ottawa needs a few things to move forward and sens do need to try and free up some cap since we have perron and jensen locked up next year. Cirelli is also better defensively and can pk which ottawa needs too. Sens get the older player, but save cap and and an extra year of control. Would try and see if sens can get a pick upgrade but wouldnt mind a 1 for 1 move.

Need to work on rounding off the problem areas and still allowing him to play to his strengths. If he ever figures out that the puck can do more work faster than he can, look out. Similarly, too many years of Granato pushing on him to blow the zone early is going to take some work on his part. But the tools are there.

No, all we need is a healthy servicable player to play as a 2C so we can have Pinto on the 3rd line. He’s been fine but I also woudn’t mind playing him on the wing.

check the trade board....fans already selling Cozens off. Maybe you should.....
Its an internet discussion board, lol.

If you can find a single Sens fan who expected Norris would return a long-term piece + a high draft pick, I will eat my hat. DJ (edit: Green, not DJ) and Staois have both sung his praises, but he is still clearly behind Stutzle, Tkachuk, Batherson, Sanderson, Chabot, Ullmark, probably Zub and Jensen, and arguably Pinto, (edit 2: Kleven), or Greig in terms of our most important players. He is in a similar position as Norris, except without the concern that he can be seriously hurt at any given moment.

Cozens is a good player, but he is also clearly one of our more expendable high-paid players. This team isnt a contender. If Cozens can be moved for someone like Cirelli, that is an obvious move to look into.

That said, I don't think anyone feels Cozens has worn out his welcome, doesn't have a future here, or is a problem. Only insecure Sabres fans who are desperate for anything to celebrate after their first three offseason moves are retaining their awful GM, retaining their awful coach, and hiring a homophobic meathead.
