Wheels on display tn. Rossi ain't scoring that goalI agree, but he seems like a naturally slim guy. He’d have to put in the work.

f***en right, not sure why you’re quoting that post. But f***en right wheels on display.Wheels on display tn. Rossi ain't scoring that goal
This is spot on I think. Minus available being the glaring factor, I think if Norris replaced Cozens, we take more than 1 of those first 4 games.I think if Norris was healthy the Sens would not have traded him because they need his faceoff ability, his PK ability & his goal scoring especially on the PP. I think they made the deal because ownership felt the pressure to make the playoffs this yr & with Norris injury history including recently that they didn't want to risk not making a deal & Norris being injured & unable to play in the playoffs. It's not like Cozens has been bad, he has played well enough, I don't think he is as good as Norris when Norris is healthy, but they needed a healthy top 4 centre.
Really happy he scored. He needed it and the team needed it. I am a Cozens fan and supporter and I still think the Sens are ahead on the trade with the fit and what Cozens brings over Norris.I said we needed something from him , and he delivered. Hopefully this will relax him a little bit.
An incredible playoffs when you think of it: the entire core has now contributed meaningfully as he was the last one to do something big. Crazy
I would never describe Norris’ game as having jam in a traditional sense. He threw a lot of hits this year, but they don’t do much, and he wasn’t very good at winning puck battles. This is spot on I think. Minus available being the glaring factor, I think if Norris replaced Cozens, we take more than 1 of those first 4 games.
Norris also has a lot more jam on his play. I see a lot of parallels between Stutzle and Cozens style which their approach doesn't translate to as much playoff production and success I would imagine.
Yup. Faceoffs are one of those things that come with experience, although truly elite players can learn at a younger age.We got talking faceoffs in general here, but I don't think anyone expects Cozens to more than average at the dot.
That said, Tavares was a career 50.1% over his first 5 seasons and is now among the elite,
At the same age as Cozens is now, Giroux was a career 49.5
Faceoffs aren't really a young man's game.
I'm fine with Cozen moving to wingI think they should try Cozens on Timmy’s RW. Cozens had his best nhl season while playing RW, and has had success on the wing in international play too. I think it allows him to simplify his game and play to his strengths/minimize his weaknesses. I also think the roster slots nicely around that change, particularly if Grieg and Pinto are up for a bump up in roles too.
Brady - Stu - Cozens
Zett - Pinto - Batherson
Giroux - Grieg - Perron/Amadio
Cousins - Ufa4c - Perron/Amadio
Lotsa reasons why I think this top 9 could work, and potentially a few why they might not, but it’s the offseason so why not.
Are folks dead set on Cozens at 2C?
He’s not moving to the wing. We need our centres where they are. If we need a winger, we’ll add a winger.
Couzins is a good centreman
Come onC is the stenghth of our team. Don’t mess with it to make RW good.
Staois will figure this out - he got us a Vezina winner, top 4 RD, basically compleltly rebuilt the bottom 6, drafted a stud RD all in a few weeks last summer - finding a top 6 RW seems kinda easy for his summer homework
Come on
I think Norris is the better player now but he has been injured so much and seems to be in jury prone so trading him was likely because the Senators felt there was too much risk paying an potentially injury prone player $8M AAV. Marchessault is slow, bad defensively, and not a very good human being, no thanks.I’ll say they chase Marchesault and Nashville retains money
What makes Marchessault a not very good human? Genuinely asking, chat find anything on googleMarchessault is slow, bad defensively, and not a very good human being, no thanks.
This. Both healthy, no question it is Norris but the chronic injuries is to risky for the $$$.I think Norris is the better player now but he has been injured so much and seems to be in jury prone so trading him was likely because the Senators felt there was too much risk paying an potentially injury prone player $8M AAV. I disagree. Norris is the better goal scorer, and was working on a solid 200 foot game, but Cozens is a better centreman, is better at carrying the puck, and is better at making plays. The clincher for me will be if Green and company can round out his defensive game like they did for Norris.This. I like Josh and was surprised he was traded. His injuries are troubling to me.This. Both healthy, no question it is Norris but the chronic injuries is to risky for the $$$.
Norris and Lindell are prime examples of players who are forced into extremely difficult defensive deployment because they are the best on their teams at doing so. However, neither are particularly good at bringing strong defensive results. Lindell-Ceci is getting caved defensively.I disagree. Nice hockey trade in my opinion as we need more of what Cozens offers in the position. I miss Norris on the team though, that pp one timer was deadly.
Pinto seems to be thriving as a shut down centre, I guess some guys just have a feel for it.Norris and Lindell are prime examples of players who are forced into extremely difficult defensive deployment because they are the best on their teams at doing so. Yes Pinto's metrics and results are excellent as a shutdown role.Pinto seems to be thriving as a shut down centre, I guess some guys just have a feel for it.
