My guess the dream would be a first
Not likely, Ottawa is possibly/likely already down one of those in the next 2 years (F U Bettman) and KD still owes Ottawa for the last 1st they got, cause I especially was not pleased with the chubby little midget they got in return, lol. How about more of a quantity deal, JBD, Donovan/Hamara & a 3rd?

Fair enough, quantity deals rarely look good on paper in real life for the team receiving the quantity and KD might find someone to squeeze a first out of but I wouldn't hold my breath and I'm sure you're not

I think Kurashev is criminally underrated, but this is absolutely horrendous for the Sabres. Cozens may never be the lockdown "do it all #2C" he was projected to become, but he's still at least a competent-ish 2C at worst and a clear Top-6 Winger with that size+speed combo teams kill for.

Kurashev is sneaky clever as a player and great through the neutral zone especially, but the value just is not there. Connor Murphy is a #4/5 "tweener" at best. He'd probably play on the top pairing with Dahlin or big minutes with Power/Byram, but he's really not that good.

It'd also just leave a gaping hole in the Sabres lineup up front.

Lost in this silly trade proposal is the sabres and hawks could be a great match for a Murphy trade if Chicago was fine moving him. BUF has plenty of futures that CHI might like to make it work.
Many Sabres fans have been calling for a Connor Murphy trade for 2 years. He would be PERFECT next to Power......especially if Byram and Dahlin keep the chemistry that they seem to be building.

Two years ago, he was perfect for Power
Is he still perfect? Maybe we can do better now.

I'd much rather have Weegar for the next several years, and we have assets to make it happen should the Flames fall out of the race.

I think he'll be good for the second pair. Weegar is much harder to get and I think he's more of a LD player, which is more for playing with Dahlin than Power. We're doing pretty well there now.

I'm not interested in future anchors

I think Weegar shoots right. Does someone need to fix the Internet again? I'll check this afternoon.

It will take a couple of good assets to get him and a smaller one to move him out later, but he'd change the complexion of the team for the better.

No, I know Weegar is right-handed, but he plays LD all the time, both in Florida and Calgary. I think I read that he is more comfortable playing LD than RD. Same with Dahlin, he is left-handed, but he is more comfortable playing RD.

But I don't know how well he's doing at RD, I'm not sure that would be a problem, although our defense would be damn expensive and Byram would also need a new contract.

With the situation they're in, the Sabres should go after a stud RHD.

I like Murphy but he's not in the same category than.. Seth Jones.

I know that the defenseman has a big contract, but Sabres need that type of "do it all" right shooting defenseman, that'd stabilize the whole thing.

Buffalo has talent spread throughout their line up, they've been missing the playoffs since Antiquity, if I was them I'd be in "do whatever it takes to get to the next level" mode.

Jones could come in and blend perfectly with the talented defense corp Buffalo has, Dahlin, Power, Byram... he'd form a helluva top 4 with them.

Championship type of defensive corp...

I don't know what's his value actually, maybe not for Cozens 1vs1, maybe if Chicago add a little +...

We don't need Jones, especially with his salary, we already have expensive defense. We need Murphy much more. We just need some not very expensive and reliable guy for the second pair, to play with Power and at PK.

Byram - Dahlin
Power - Murphy

Buffalo has what I call yoo much of cap space utilized with the D/G vs F split. If buffalo was getting as high salary D s different high D is going thr other way
