Kings News: Dwight King re-signs [3 years/$1.95M AAV]

If my numbers are right and Cracknell and Schultz start in Manch, we have $1,008,106
in cap space.

I still think a trade is coming. Or Andrehoff is going to get plucked on waivers

you were not going to get him for three years at under 1.5...2M is very reasonable, look around the league, cap at $70M, not $40M...i fear the muzzin/martinez contracts, leafs signed Gardiner at $4M/5y, i think this sets a base for those two

This is the likely line-up for next season. (with Andreoff making the team)

Fair signing. I felt he was going to be around $2 million. Capgeek still has us barely above water at around $200k, and we have a lot of players floating around that can be sent down and also many other roster options. Looks good. All UFA's and RFA's are signed now, so we are good to go for the season with the team intact. Awesome.

If he played the power play, King could score at least 23 goals next year. That's good for a 3rd liner.

If you combine Dwight King's first two seasons in which he played 27 games in 11-12' and 47 games in 12-13'. He ends up with 10 goals and 15 assists in 74 games. Last season he scored 15 goals and 15 assists in 77 games. He also had 10 goals and 14 assists in 64 playoff games.

Those are pretty solid numbers of 3LW in his first "two" seasons.

Market value maybe a touch low if anything. Again 15 goals gets you that kinda contract imo Also 64 playoff games at 25 years of age thats worth something imo

Again, you're seeing it from an arbitrator's POV, not Deano's. Yeah, if King went to arbitration, he probably would have been awarded 2.5M range, but in contract negotiations, those 15 goals are misleading. It's a good thing he had decent playoffs.

I can live with 1.95M. It's not great, but it doesn't hurt the team either.

Except the fact that he's played around 40 games as our 1LW/2LW and scored 12 or 13 of his goals there.
