No clue what Toews was saying. It pissed off the trainer, the ref and Steen. It was apparently classless if you can read Steen's lips.

What makes you think longer or "real" suspensions -- whatever that means, is going to change the fact that hockey, particularly in the NHL, is a violent sport? It does not matter if you ban a player 3 games or 30 games, controversial hits are bound to happen, naturally. **** is going to happen.

The conversation about this sport being physical and intense and that being a justification for dirty play is so tired. This is 2014 we have a thing called "science" and it has determined that violent hits to the head have long lasting affects on players. All professional contact sports are addressing this right now. It is a major liability for the NHL to have these hits, the game can be just as physical and intense without players knocking other guys unconscious. Just because you like to see players hurt doesn't mean that it belongs in a professional sport.

Yep. Best way to get retribution is to eliminate the Hawks from the playoffs. I hate that Backes got hurt but you have to admit, we've got them off their game so far and the result is 2 losses for them. Let's take the next two and move on. It's Miller time!!

Prior to last game, I had no idea what a dirty, classless player Keith is. Now I do and have zero respect for him and by association I wish his Blackhawks to lose this series and never to have success as long as he's on the team. Over-reaction? Probably and I'm not even a Blues fan. I can't stand it that players of Keith's character are allowed to succeed in the NHL.

The game two slashing constantly was one of the worst I've ever seen and none of it was called.
