Proposal: Ducks - Wings

Simple trade:

Anthony Mantha

for

Nick Ritchie
Larsson/Pettersson/Mahura/Welinski (Wings' choice)

Ducks upgrade Ritchie to Mantha. That's a win. They can sacrifice one of the D prospects (likely Wings choose Larsson?) as honestly, the Top4 is all young and set for years to come (Lindholm/Fowler/Manson/Montour) and the onyl spots would be third-pairing, not the hardest thing to fill.

Wings downgrade Mantha, but pickup an NHL-ready D prospect of their preference (all are ready ti play this season except maybe Mahura) and while they downgrade Mantha to Ritchie, Ritchie isn't a "bust" by any means and is still developing. His floor is a 3rd line power forward who likes to hit and has a great shot, a player who can bump up and down the lineup. His ceiling is probably 25-30G power forward in the right situation with the right linemates/chemistry.

The same story it's always been for Detroit, they're more likely to trade their valuables as part of a package rather than for a package.

Not trying to criticize any of those prospects, but Detroit is chocked full of bottom 4 defenders and middle 6 wingers. What they lack is anything on the top tier.

I don't see the motivation for the Wings, they downgrade up front for a lottery ticket on the blueline. I'm fairly certain if they're willing to move Mantha, it would be in a deal to truly solidify the back end.

Hell No there was a rumored Mantha for Cam Fowler, Before he signed long term with the Ducks. Might've considered that. But not for this deal no way.

They shouldn't be, I would put Larsson ahead of them all, but perhaps DET had a diff preference so let them pick in this hypothetical scenario
