Good, increases the chances of Gaucher making the team.
I guess we should have had Harkin's on a PTO, but Verbeek wanted to hand out the 2-year deal to show he was really active this offseason haha.
He hasn't shown much other being a hustling 4rth line / call up type.

Harkins was pretty meh…. Out of all the guys battling for bottom 6 I felt like he was the weakest case

No chance big Ross is on the waiver block, unless there is another big boy deslauries type waiting to upgrade on him
Not to get too off topic, but for me, that was still the only trade in recent history I really regret Beeker doing. Having Des back would be so so nice.

My recollection is that Des asked to be traded to a competitive team. I think of that trade as PV respecting a well-liked and appreciated player.
I dont remember that being the case. If it was, then I cant complain. My recollection was Beeker just trying to clear out pending UFAs and hitting reset.

Maybe Verbeek wanted a scoring center for San Diego for the next two seasons. Harkins has improved his scoring in the AHL for the past three seasons, but also proved he can't translate that offense to the NHL level.
San Diego needs better and more talent b/c it's been abysmal the past few seasons down there.
