Even without all those guys, the AVs pressured us all night - they were all over us everywhere. Utah gave us space and we were able to make something of it. But when we're constantly pressed (as we will be in most games), we et confused and go Keystone Kops. I don't know if they need more drill or more study or both, but the RIGHT decisions (with or without the puck) have got to become almost instinctive. Especially sine it looks like many teams will still have a speed advantage on us.
That’s just it. We have a lot of young players that dominated lower levels when they had that extra second to make a decision. Until they can learn to process the right play quicker, they will struggle in the big leagues. It’s really noticeable with guys like Luneau, Zellweger, and Gauthier. Carlsson is getting better and I think to a lesser extent McTavish is as well. Just gotta be patient. There will be ups and downs this season. That’s just the way it goes with young teams.

Not ready to be the starter, according to some.
Been saying it since last season he should be the starter this year, he was legitimately a top 20 NHL goaltender last season for 3/4 of the season on our shitty team while our supposed #1 was statistically the worst starter in the NHL.

But apparently because Dostal played 4 bad games in November 2023, it means he's not ready to be the starter and Gibson is needed to bail him out.

Z offensively has been disappointing so far. really worried they're coaching the offense out of him so he can be somewhat respectable defensively.
It's because he's a centre playing on wing. That line is a disaster as McTavish as the playmaker because he can't handle the puck for shit so far this season, and isn't a natural puck carrier anyway.

Haven't bought into the Zegras at wing experiment, it still looks as bad as when they first started it. It's no surprise that the 2nd line generates all it's chances when Zegras floats into the middle and McTavish out wide.

Unfortunately I can see us being stubborn and convinced McTavish is the future centre and Zegras is moved because he's not a fit as a winger. Zegras will pile up the points when he gets moved back to the middle without a doubt IMO, just hopefully it's with us.

That was a rough game to watch, it looked really disjointed straight out of the gate. As the game went out I thought we actually had some nice breakouts at times, but this team is REALLY guilty of overplaying with the puck instead of just shooting. There are so many occasions we try to beat an extra man and lose out, instead of just shooting through traffic.

We really need to improve on the faceoffs, we are on the back foot on most of our shifts purely because we lose the face off and have to extent so much effort to try and regain the puck. Putting Gauthier in to take face offs is just ridiculous, he's even worse then Carlsson on them.

I'll give Cronin till the end of November before really forming an opinion on whether he's the right option going forward or not. Gives Anaheim 22 games including an extended home stretch. Think we've played two solid games (Vegas and Utah), one okay game (Sharks) and one bad game (Avs) so far.

Really need to see more of an offensive strategy, this team is actually talented offensively and shouldn't look so rough. Defensively was bad today, but it had looked better in previous games need to see more improvement in that area.

If this team is looking as bad as last season by the end of November, then serious questions need to be asked of Cronin.

Ghislain Hebert and Brandon Schrader missed approximately 10 interference calls, 3 trips, and 3 high-sticks. Other than that, they did a solid job.

Colorado just gave them a lesson in how to keep the play in the offensive zone, sustain pressure and forecheck. It was almost unreal to watch how dominant they were. A good reality check, although the Ducks were probably playing worse than they really are, just lacking in everything. You could see the Avs can be vulnerable in their own end and Georgiev looks anything but confident. But they just couldn't sustain anything. 75% of the game was probably played in the Ducks end and there was always a man available for the Avs and they were always the first ones at the loose pucks. Impossible to get anything going when you're constantly chasing play in your own zone.

Godstal.

The Ducks had no business taking any points out of this one. Long way to go with this team. The PP remains pathetic, maybe even more pathetic than ever before if that's even possible.

Dostal really stole them the point. Great clutch goal by Terry to tie it.

Overtime was such a mess. Bad changes and just overall sloppy play.
