Rumor: Ducks shopping Brian Dumoulin

The more I think i about it the more it makes sense for the Kings. There are some 'better' dmen available but the value is right here. Need some insurance on the left for sure and especially if Hiller is going to continue playing 11-7 the best thing to do is keep Englund and Burroughs away from the lineup altogether. It would also help if Doughty doesn't come back full speed and we end up rolling:

Anderson-Gavrikov
Dumoulin-Doughty
Edmundson-Clarke
Spence, Moverare

At the very least it gives flexibility and since Dumoulin is the same 'type' of player as all our LHD he's great insurance.

Not worth it for less than a 3rd. Ducks are currently 6 points out of a playoff spot. I know they won't make it but having Dumo might make it so they're not mathematically eliminated until the last month of the playoffs. If they can stay within 10 points and play "meaningful" games, it's probably worth more for the kids than a 4th rounder for the team. Ducks do pretty well with 2nd and 3rd rounders, so that would be worth it.

Would be a great fit on the Jets 3rd pair. Their defense is getting banged up and depth is being tested. Having a playoff proven vet like Dumoulin to rely on is much better than Stanley/ Heinola.

He has been wonderful for us, filling the veteran DD role for our young guys. Feels bad to trade him, but we cannot keep sitting Zellweger/Minty every game.

i’d do a 2nd if anaheim retains and takes forbort back

And then send the DET 4th to a third team to retain another 25% to bring his caphit down to $787.5k.

A 2nd rounder for Dumoulin at $787.5k would be pretty solid.

I just dont think we really need that kind of retention.

Only scenario where I could see them needing to do that would be if Landy really is going to return and they dont already have an LTIR trick planned for him. But I think either A) Landy isn't returning or B) They have something planned for him already.

I am curious what the asking price is for him or Ryan Lindgren. Those seem like two guys the Jets would be interested in. Probably the biggest two d-men available, maybe Pettersson too, unless Provorov or Byram hit the market. For RD is Ceci #1?

That seems like a reasonable deal for the ducks since Forbort is a pending UFA. How has he played this year? Does he have any value at all?
