I am shopping my Fruit of the Loom whitey tighties with several holes, that I may or may not have sharted in during the fall of 2018, following a bout with the flu.

Probably the same level of interest...

He’s definitely rolled back the clock this year…20 minutes a night of dependable veteran defensive play. Looks like his poor season last year was the outlier in a very steady career.

The perfect stay-at-home veteran defensive rental who can do more than simply be an experienced body on the third pair. Not saying a contender is going to look to him to anchor a second pair at this point, but he can provide more usage and fill in higher minutes than many of the other veteran defender rentals likely to be available.

I think he’s gonna be a very attractive target for a number of teams.

I like him, his dependability and veteran presence. You know what you are getting every night. Though there probably won’t be room for him next year and I believe he wants to be east coast anyway.

If he's in the same state he was when he left the Pens, he's no longer capable of logging top pair minutes but would be a really solid #5 for a contender.
Accurate. Can still log solid minutes just on a contender won’t be required too.

Is this shopping like Zegras was being shopped (I’m not hanging up, but make it really good), shopped like Fowler was being shopped (do you have a spare pick or even puck?), or shopped “we will move him, start the bidding”?

Given he is pending UFA and will be 34 to start next season I dont think Ducks going with "Not hanging up but make it really good" is best strategy on this type of player

Its possible you push away suitors who move on to other targets

Well I mean… the circumstances are much different. I’m sure he will get torched in here though since no one has watched him play this year and we will be offered absolute crud (similar to Z).

Dumoulin has been paired with Trouba and they have been matched up against top lines during this recent streak the Ducks have been on. They don’t dominate their minutes by any means, but they minimize the damage against better than any other pairing we could put together.

Ideally he should probably play 3rd pair defensive minutes, but he can bump up to a 2nd pair in a pinch. I’m guessing he gets at least a 3rd round pick if the Ducks retain, maybe a 2nd if they’re lucky or if they take back some salary on top of retention. Anaheim would also probably look to add a 7th dman either in this deal or in a separate deal.

A 3rd for a retained Dumoulin is more than reasonable. I bet enough teams would be lining up at that starting point that you could squeeze a little something extra out. At a cap hit almost anybody can afford and with his low-maintenance style and playoff experience - he can fit nearly every contender looking to shore up the defensive side of things in their blueline rotation.

Didn’t realize he was in Anaheim and even in the league anymore. I thought he retired for some reason.. obviously thinking of someone else lol
