Zegras out for Ana (suspended)

What's the deal with UPL? How much of that ugly stat is him and how much is it the team around him? That deal he signed is looking a little spooky.
He is having a down year.

Plenty of goalies are inconsistent year to year. UPL appears to be like that. They have to hope he bounces back next year or that contract is going to be regrettable.

Has UPL played as well as he did last year? By and large, no. He's had some excellent games.....but to my eye he's basically been average.

But I think that the stat in the graphic is very much downplaying how UPL and Reimer have been playing -- they haven't really been a reason we've lost many games......but they really haven't been a reason we've won games either. Again, very average.

Levi has only played 9 games and his goals below replacement are abysmal, and they're very much skewing the numbers.

If you look at Moneypuck -- they have UPL as basically league-average (116 GA vs. 115.64 xGA) and Reimer above average (29 GA vs. 32.86 xGA).

Considering they are one of the worst teams at odd-man rushes given up and cross-slot passes yielded defensively, it's not hard to look at how the team sets their goalies up to fail.

I think we smash them. Odds agree at -195, one of the biger favorites in the league tonight.

Anaheim had a wild game with Detroit the other day, goals and fights. Should be a fun one.

Zegras' head hit was flagged after the fact - on ice crew missed making any call and that lead to the escalation.

Purely from an eye test, I feel like there have been many occasions this year where I've said "could have really used a save there" or "he should have had that" or "that's a soft one." Those add up to losses.

Definitely agree he's not a *main* reason we have lost the bulk of our games.
