Our defense is trash, Sal is right

goalie sucks but our personnel is terrible at best. We need Luke and Nemec to pan out badly.

Graves, Severson, Siegenthaler are great bottom pairing dman or adequate top4 guys playing alongside a dman capable of covering their weakness
Siegenthaler was on of the best defensive players in the NHL last season.

The defense blows but if you can't get a save on the first shot which 99.9% goalies make a save and the goalie even in this game is outplaying you then I couldn't give a f*** about grade A the following chances are. Not to mention, this team can't score on a whorehouse if they tried.
99.9% of those goals aren’t saved. He was screened by three people with a fluttering shot which is hard to read from the blade as well as perception. Any goalie coach will tell you that.

Can anyone post a nice fancy chart to show how we won the first period?

The problem is the fans of this team continue to put virtually all the culpability on Blackwood while ignoring other players out of position regularly.

Blackwood had sucked for like 3 seasons now. You can see it in his dumb face that he has 0 confidence. Should change his name to Mopewood at this point.

Dude needs to take Ruff and be sent outta here.

In the entire history of the league since save percentage was tracked 5 goalies have a career save percentage lower than .600 (what we’ve gotten from Blackwood so far this year).

But sure, it’s the defense.

I seriously hope you dont actually believe this

Fitz' job is in no way shape or form in jeopardy. He managed to sign Jack Hughes to 8x8 before he blew up and has two top-4 overall dmen coming up within a years time.

As for how long Ruff lasts, it wont be past Thanksgiving - and I doubt it makes it to November if were being completely honest. I full well expect that Fitz is giving Ruff as short a leash as possible vs firing him in the summer because of covid and goalie injuries

But to think Fitz is gonna be fired is just blasphemous and emotionally driven
I think the leash is shorter than thanksgiving. Like Halloween at best. Not 100 pct ruffs fault for goalie play but can we at least see what vanicheck has. We know what Blackwood is

Siegenthaler was on of the best defensive players in the NHL last season.
but he's so onedimensional, brings nothing on the offensive zone, can't sustain pressure with guys like that. He's a fine top4 guys and a good partner for Dougie, but don't think he would be a top4 guy for most contenders, especially in today's NHL about speed and possession of the puck in the ozone

That's not true at least in this game they all suck
Try reading the comments since game one. Palat and graves were culpable of leaving their men wide open in game one and virtually everyone blamed Blackwood. Tonight. Severson and three other devils left silverberg wide open. Blamed Blackwood. It’s rediculous. Peolle love to hate this guy and the fans here are losing credibility IMO.

Used to be mad at Corey Crawford for retiring on us and now I realize he made the right choice.

Looking back on that it's amazing how right Crawford was, he had like 1 week of practice and was like lmfao nah I'm good, I don't need this headache even if I can make a few million.

You guys know what was awesome? 20 years of Martin Brodeur. That's what was awesome
Its interesting to note because in all sports.. having a 'great' or someone whos skill early resembles a possibly great career ahead in a certain position usually goes a while without afterwards

Thats what makes the Rangers with Shestyorkin so upsetting, or anyone who was bothered when Green Bay had Rodgers behind Favre. Or take it further and use the example of the Showtime Lakers to recently - Kareem then Shaq but.. quite a leap in time there, with Magic being at PG and Kobe at SG. So no real back to backs even with a team that was absolutely dominant during this timespan

At least we’ll get to see Vanecek again next game

Still possible he’s not completely cursed by this franchise yet
I think there's a chart somewhere that shows Vanecek is 4-0 lifetime on the road on Thursdays in October. So I expect him to play well. Not sure how it translates in the division but I'm thinking there's a good chance he plays well.
