There's a relationship between these two things that I just posted elsewhere in a thread talking about East vs West:

The Flames for instance, have only lost the following games this seasons to teams that aren't gonna be in a playoff spot at the end of the season:


Columbus (3-2)
Carolina (4-1)
Toronto (4-1)
Buffalo (4-3)
Dallas (2-1)
Florida (6-5)
Ottawa (5-4 SO)

These weren't tight-checking games that we're used to when the Flames usually play playoff teams from either conference. They're all loosey goosey "not-full effort" scores. Except the game against Dallas. Which is a West team. Safe to say that's about 11 of 13 points where they wish they at least showed up.

I have to imagine Sharks fans and Kings fans have similar facepalm stories of their teams not showing up against the non-playoff teams in the East.

Think about that for a second. 11 points pissed away to these east teams that we know aren't better than us.

11 points and we're one point out of 1st in the league.
