In fairness to the Leafs, how do you get amped for a game like this? Anaheim is awful. The Leafs know, for better or worse, that about 5 minutes of effort is probably more than is required to beat Anaheim. It's easy to say that Berube should drill into them that every game is important, but people are people. The Leafs will win this game and immediately forget about it. It's a blip on the schedule.
I dunno, they played like shit last game and got away with it, shouldn't that be enough to get amped up and put 5-6 goals on these guys and win a laffer? May still happen but not a great first period even though they are leading.

In theory, I agree, but these guys are human. This is big leagues versus pee-wee, and the Leafs players know that. Much as you want them to focus and lock down a game like this, I don't think it will look like that. The Leafs will win this game by 3 or 4 goals, but they can do that without maintaining good habits. It's why I dislike games against these kinds of teams. It's great to get the two points for the purposes of the standings, but I can't imagine the players take much of anything from it.

Reilly pinching and getting beat back up ice.
Just retire him already as he looks far too comfortable being just okay.
I've never considered him to be a great defender but since he's gotten married his game has deteriorated. Always said Leafs could use more offence. He does have some good offensive skills, shot sucks but turn him into a winger. We all know how are depth is bottom six.

Bérubé get marner away from matthews. Mitch averaged 2 points a game when matthews was out.
Matthews is bringing him down
Imagine some posters on here think Mitch wouldn’t get all his points without matthews
