GDT: Ducks at Canes - Eric Staal Jersey Retirement Night.

OT is there something going around I've been sick for a week with no end in sight which is prohibitive to drinking during Canes games

Lol Adam Gold just said on the postgame show that he thought the goalie interference call was a good one

With takes like that any of us could work a radio show for the team

I'm still not sure why that was called back. Was there contact? Yeah. But it didn't prevent Dostal from making the save and Aho was doing his best to minimalize the contact. If we're going to call plays like that GI, it's no wonder no one on our team goes to the front of the net, because apparently that's illegal now in today's NHL.

Bad flu and Covid here in Florida. Plus, RSV in other parts of the country (folks we know in Ohio have a household all sick with that). It’s that time of the year.

We are a first round out and we all know it. Be it jersey or the caps.
Funny, I might have agreed with you before the last Florida game. The Canes played at a physicality that is needed in the playoffs and then against the Leafs they showed a speed that was off the charts.

Meaning, it’s quite possible we finally have a team that can play multiple ways in the playoffs depending on the opponent.

Still think we are a top forward off and am worried about goaltending and defense size. But, it’s not all gloom and doom.

Kooch is young and he’s playing like a young goalie typically plays. He gave up a questionable goal on a 2-on-1 to start the 3rd (though it was a hell of a shot over the shoulder), and then stop two more 2-on-1s in the following five minutes. And while it’s fair to say “Well, he should have stopped the one he allowed,” the bigger issue is probably “Why did the team give up three odd man rushes in a 1-0 game in a span of 6-7 minutes?”

Dilemma is that he often plays poorly when he doesn’t get a lot of work too.

He is still young so I’m not writing him off yet but……
Not writing him off at all worst case he becomes a good tandem goalie but he needs another guy who’s better right now to split the time with
