Advice to you all. Forget the 15-1 start and watch this team right now as a team whose true talent level is at best a goaltending driven 2nd wildcard team and you'd find it much less frustrating.

I expected another closely fought game against this bottom feeder where the jets squeeked out a win instead they were mostly dominated and lost.
Saying "goaltender driven team" like it's a bad thing is as stipud as saying that a football team is bad because they're "quarterback driven" when they have the best QB in the league

It's the most significant and impactful position on the team

Ppl say goalies aren’t consistent, Helly is proving this false by being the best every season.

All teams best players the team for us that’s Helly.

Morrissey was great, bottom pairing was great. First line was great except schief being unable to win a face off.

We need goals from other lines, hopefully Ehlers can change that.

I said without Hellebuyck, they are not a playoff team. However, keep arguing that nothing is wrong. I see the exact same scenario playing out for the third year in a row.
I didn't say that there's nothing wrong. Please quote my post where I said that and bold those exact words. Good luck finding that

I just pointed out that they're leading the league in goals scored, and teams that do that never miss the palyoffs. Ever.

You said they wouldn't be in a playoff postition. Now you're moving goalposts.

When was the last time a team led the league in goals and missed the playoffs?
C'mon , the Jets set us all up for failure with an amazing yet unsustainable start .They are now proving they are a .500 team without Sandberg. So much for depth!
They are also piss poor against teams that forecheck hard . The word is out. Forecheck and these guys crumble but let's all enjoy the regular season with any luck it will be a nice and early spring with no need to watch playoff hockey!

Focus on the playoffs again? I mean with the jets luck nothing they do during regular season can prepare them for playoffs.

If they'd actually like to prepare for the playoffs, when they're getting throttled like they have been recently in some games, maybe try new things?

No Stanley cup winning coach has ever changed his lines.

it's funny because before this stretch of play steve valiquette was on some show on sportsnet and said that helle/comrie have had the easiest load in the nhl

I thought they did try to change lines by bringing Ehlers back into line up.

???

The QB can directly influence every play, the goalie can only react to every play.

They're nothing alike.

Yeah what a garbage #1 team in the league in December.

2023 and 2022 called, they'd like their chest-puffing back.

We have legit top line and a Vezina goalie. Arguably the best 3rd line in hockey and a pretty nice player in Jomo. Chevy needs to fill in the 2 major missing pieces and this is a good playoff calibre team that can go on a run.

Good thing in the playoffs one team isn’t coming off a B2B and the other has 3 days off.

We lost. The sky is not falling and we are in a playoff position.

I think that is the issue. We all got stuck on the great start. It was unexpected and unsustainable. They are regressing to the mean and that is a .500 hockey team unless as you alluded to Helly stands on his head. If they do not start paying attention to detail and play some sort of system then they are doomed.

Right because we all know the number 1 predictor for playoff success is a strong October/early November! Who cares what happens afterwards!
What IS the #1 predictor of playoff success?

yeah, we need a legit 2c, names is fine as an injury replacement but isn't good enough full time, names going down to the 4th line will also be a big upgrade over who ever comes out now

I've got a t-shirt for this game...

Yeah, that was a poor showing, spoiled a very good game by Comrie. On to the next one. I give this game two "Bad Santas" out of five...

The Prediction Contest for the game against the Mild has been posted for your guesses. Only one point was awarded, so not much movement in the standings. A big SHOUT OUT to @Ponds who will be making the next two GDTs! Thank you very much, we are all looking forward to them. Just a reminder, there are plenty of games still available, so sign up to create one today! See you all on Saturday! Good night...

Yeah what a garbage #1 team in the league in December.
I never said the Jets were garbage, rather that the Sharks and Ducks are.

Thing is, we’ve seen this story before. We’ve come stormin’ out the gates to start the season, whimper in the second half, and then disappear in the playoffs.

There were similarities to the team cratering like they have the past couple seasons on display during our recent batch of rough play. A lot of that was hand-waved away as entirely the fault of sub-optimal scheduling.

Well, we finally got the two days off that we have been clamouring for and arguably look worse.

I think the main reason is with Samberg out, it throws the second pairing into disarray and has a cataclysmic effect on our entire D corps/lineup. But I am concerned that there’s a reason we’re seeing similarities between this season and years gone by.

They're alike in the fact that both players are the most influential and impactful on the outcome for each team in each game

Plus, QBs don't affect shit on special teams and defence. Their impact on running plays is almost non-existent. We've established that you've never played hockey, now you're showing that your knowledge of football isn't much better. I guess you never played that either

Colorado won the cup with a bad goalie. They outplayed their deficiency. It's always nice to have a hot goalie but you can't count on that. It's unreliable. Your system and regular play should not be. The Jets have been unreliable there, for years.

Special teams are special teams, goalies don't affect shit on defense except saves because they're not defensemen, they're goalies. They can't limit the number of shots from the point, or slot shots.

That’s why u got to enjoy first half and let your interest wane in second half.

Tell me you've never played a game of football in your life with your dumbass comparing a QB to a goalie. Absolute clown.
Helly is always hot and one of the best in league. That’s not enough just like Mcdavid or mackinnon isn’t enough, but, I’d argue Helly in regular season has been just as consistent. Helly outplays our deficiencies problem is we have so many.
