Post-Game Talk: Duck Hunt - Leafs Win in Anaheim

We have Florida on the second half of a back to back Wednesday and their game Tuesday should have some extra charge after what happened in their game today.
It’s a game we should win and have to win.
What happened in the Florida Montreal game?

Edit: Nevermind. I found it. That was uncalled for by Mikkola at the end there.

Thanks for being penciled into the game tonight Gudas and being on the ice for every goal.

He should be given the Leafs game belt for that performance!

Wolls revenge

Leafs finally grind out a win in a tough part of the schedule after seeing opportunity with the Panthers loss this afternoon.
Was really hoping someone cellied in his face like that, what a f***ing clown LOL

Gudas Pilon looked lovely being deked, walked and breezed by on all Leaf goals

Nice to get the 2 points in regulation and on the tail end of the back to back.

Ducks will be a good team soon once the they get a few defensemen, coach and new captain.

Just watching the GWG you realize how lopsided the refereeing was.

Guy gets crosschecked up high away from the puck for no reason - play on. Refs were probably fuming the Leafs scored.

That will be the same sort of officiating we get in the playoffs. Unless we are up against a team the league hates worse. Like Buffalo or actually that's the only team the league hates worse so yeah we can expect this.

Anyone noticing lately refs are blantantly not calling infractions that involve Leaf players?? OEL gets tripped right in front of a ref no call. Numerous times in LA our guys being hooked or tripped nothing. We’re lucky to get 2 Power Plays a game and then you flip over and watch the Panthers get 6 Power Plays against Utah. The reffing over the past couple of weeks has been atrocious

Growing the game down south.

Two blatant trips on OEL over the weekend, numerous pick plays that lead to scoring opportunities, obstruction, holding, etc...it was not a good weekend for the refs. Is anyone holding them accountable at the league office?

I hadn't really noticed a trend to the contrary.

I’m not usually a conspiracy guy but you would almost think the league is looking after the Florida Panthers and trying to push them a bit for the division lead. I can’t remember the last time the Leafs had 6 power plays in a game and Florida was able to somehow get 6 this late in the year. Avoiding the TB-Florida series until Round 2 seems like a total “growing the game down south” type of thing Bettman would be into

That's almost a game-by-game occurrence.

I think your question's an interesting one, but more in the how rather than the if, because apart from a ref doing us a solid by diving into the path of a dumped puck so as to "assist" us on a goal, that type of reciprocation is few and far between.

Well the game seems pretty grown in Boston.

Have you forgotten how bleak the Leafs future is? It’s among the bleakiest in the entire league. At this point, the best we could hope for is that they somehow manage to hang onto a playoff spot.
Yes, this is a fair point. I need to check myself. I can't believe I forgot how bleak things are.

The pick on OEL damn near led to a goal. Horrible non call.

I don't believe that they were going to call the mugging on Holmberg either when Lorentz scored.

Marner was tackled. No call.

It was awful

And this is where Shanafraud has failed at doing his job !!! He should be very vocal in the media regarding how shabbily our Leafs are treated as a team. Instead, he stays quiet while he and his family still live in the U.S.A. That is very telling when it comes to HIS commitment to Toronto and our Maple Leafs !!!

JMHO.

He's staying quiet cuz he is gonna be moving into NHL head office after this gig with the leafs . He's a shiester.

Got da 2 points and got 5 out of 6 on tight west coast trip .. pretty damn good trip .. these are all tough games for anyone to get juiced up for in reality .. but good news is they get a travel day today, some sleep and have a great practice on Tuesday and get ready for Cats on Wednesday .. team should come out flying for a playoff tune-up game .. can't wait to head down to Scotia for it .. nice to beat da cats before playoffs start .. GLG

Hopefully it'll start a bench clearer or two in their upcoming game.

THAT would really help us. LOL

3 games in 4 nights, 2-0-1, 5 out 6 possible points, take it and move on.

Reffing was awful tonight, clear pens not being called, but Knies defending himself after a hit results in a pen..
I absolutely loved how he folded the Anaheim player right over the bench when he had to defend himself.

He’s starting to get man strong.
