Post-Game Talk: Duck Hunt - Leafs Win in Anaheim

great game overal and go away with 2 point but doesn't liked Woll game... just allowing 2 goal but was looking more lucky than good...

Constantly out of position and even basic shot was looking pretty hard. He's really look shaky right now... completly forfeit on colangelo goal, if hes just still fighting that probably don't goes in. I was keeping my breathe basically every time a shot goes in his direction.

Hope he find back his game pretty fast, we will need him to clinch 1st seed in atlantic

Woll doesn't look confident in the net.

Looks like he's paddling down excessively, and playing very deep, clinging to the security of eliminating holes down low while allowing an open look to a lot of net over his shoulders.

He's also playing in that ducking crouch like he's not confident of tracking the puck, taking a lower angle to see things more clearly, and also making himself look small. Sliding all over across the ice to over play situations.

Off topic but that's a great race for the wild card spots. Hell, even Ottawa isn't a lock and I wouldn't be surprised to see them have a late season slump.

He’s definitely a rut right now .. battling it

I don't disagree at all that Woll is not on top of his game. His best has been absolutely spectacular this season..

I don't know if you watch much Shesterkin but I find Woll is going through what he went through for a couple of stretches this year. Their numbers are also very, very similar.

Excess movement when little movement would do.. other times hiding in the net and not tracking the puck..

Shesty has also had blinding stretches and is the highest paid goalie in the World. We are paying Woll a quarter of that for around the same numbers.

Wouldn't it be better if one of the most expensive teams in the league played better hockey than the other team 6 out of 10 nights? Rather than relying on tremendous goaltending?

We need to do something about these blown leads. And how many times did we stumble with the empty net. Lucky to get out with two points. But it’s a big two points. Win the next one and we’re in great shape for the division.

Kinda weird because if you look at the Atlantic division, it looks pretty mediocre compared to the rest of the league. Man, if those two SJ losses turn out to be the difference in the division title, it's gonna hurt.
If we lose the next two versus Florida that will be the reason we don't win the division.
Not getting two of four points vs the Sharks is nothing in an 82 game season and happens to ever good team, but getting zero of 8 vs a division rival that counts.

I agree, thought he was a bit too active in there. The post was really him flying through the crease. When he's quiet, he's fantastic, looks like he's battling, which is fine but not ideal.

If someone said they'd get 5 points out of 6 on this road trip I wouldn't have believed it, so glad I was wrong. The bookend games were not pretty but they got the job done.

Leafs need to be focused right through the end, which may be a good thing as they have something to play for. At least I hope they believe they have something to play for.

When he’s in a good head space, healthy and playing well he used to look more like a Carey Price. Technique, athleticism, focus. When he’s looking like this, he looks like James Reimer. A lot of guessing, overplaying and committing, plays with way less efficient stance and manages to look a lot smaller than what he is. Low to the ice, very shaky.

That said, I guess we can’t beat up a guy too much for winning a game 3-2 after the stretch he’s had. Maybe he can build on this.

Solid win.

For all the whining and complaining that’s taken place over the last 3 games, we leave California with 5 of 6 possible points and controlling our own fate for the division
I mean can you really say they were completely convincing performances? Take the points and be glad there won't be back-to-backs with long travel in the playoffs, sure, but they've still git a lot to work in the next 2.5 weeks.

Yeah, that was painful to watch.

Emotional collapse after the win yesterday.

Half the game was a sermin ... prayer pass after prayer pass.

5 out of 6 points and they played seriously one game.

These guys seem to always play to the emotional state of the other team. If it’s an unserious, non playoff basement dweller, that’s the mentality the Leafs will take too. If it’s a serious team, they’re serious too.

Kind of makes me wonder what kind of hockey they’ll manage if they play a playoff virgin team like Ottawa, will they be able to look like a savvy veteran team in control or manage to look like they don’t know what they’re doing either.

Berube is definitely getting them geared up for playoff hockey. More point shots looking for tips...getting more aggressive on the boards....

That 1st line is useless 5v5. I think we need to switch it up. Mitch for Bobby maybe? Need another guy with Matty that can battle in the corners. Let Mitch and AM hang out on the PP.
