Tsn is reporting that the signing of Fiala leaves the Kings vunerable to dual offer sheet where the Kings could loose Kempe and Mickey Anderson, just two of many other players the Kings will need to sign.

Personally I'm fine with losing Kempe. I believe this season was simply an outlier and he'll go back to being a 20 goal/40 point guy.

Nothing; we need more 20 goal scorers on the team.

Just not at the price I think Kempe is likely going to be signed for.
Seem a bit counterintuitive for a team that is labeled with 'not being able to develop scorers.' LOL, love this board.

It's a stupid article. What contender with cap space is going to offersheet Kempe at $6.3 million and Anderson at $4.2 million? Seems like lunacy. That'll be great fun when the Kings have $20 million in cap space next offseason looking for an offersheet of their own. And for that matter, that gives the Kings a lot of room to work with. That probably triggers a couple big trades for LA to acquire guys like Chychrun or Provorov and likely a big-name forward to replace Kempe.

Teams just don't offersheet other teams, and I think Blake is honestly a respected general manager. Nobody's looking to screw the Kings.

Insanely stupid article.

There's a reason he doesn't even go as far as to mention a team that could do this. The combination of cap space, available picks, and motiviation is rare to say the least, to say nothing of the bad mojo it triggers.

There's a reason the only one we've seen in recent years was simply a dick move based on Dundon's ego.

You're better off going to the team and player and negotiating a trade and sign, what's the point in dodging this step? I guess you could talk to Blake and say 'hey trade us x or we'll back you into a corner with salary' but man i just dont' see any world in which that's productive.

I'm not worried about an offer sheet.

But should we be concerned that Kempe has signed yet?

Puljujarvi would be a good target.
Vegas is begging for multiple
Sandin from TO
Kakko

Goal scoring was up this year. Kempe sliding back a little wouldn't be surprising. He was creating a lot of his own chances by burning D & getting quality shots. PP time also helped.

Wait, I thought this was about this type of duel between Blake and another GM.

$4.2 million for Mikey Anderson?!?! Ahahaha! Holy overpayment, Batman! I would be so happy for Mikey.

Thats what ive been wondering.. im sure an offer has been made and possibly a counter - so could be a standoff

The catch the article doesn’t mention is: what if we just let them both walk and the poaching team suddenly f***s their cap and gives away a slew of picks in the process? It’ll hurt them more than us I reckon.
It's not necessarily Kempe that's the problem. Blake might be waiting for free agency to see if we can further improve. Kempe's an RFA, he's not really going anywhere. If both parties are interested in either a bridge deal or a long-term deal, it might just be on hold until the dust settles over the next week.

doubt teams are lining up to offer sheet anderson. if kempe does sign one, this ufa class is full of wingers that we can replace him with.

Or a team could Kotkaniemi it, meaning sign him high for one year with the agreement on a long-term extension afterwards at a lower cap hit.

Honestly the part we're dancing around in general too is that the Kings are a terrible offer sheet target, with a million assets and flexible cap space for the upcoming years.

Sure, poach kempe. We'll take the picks--and then later, what kind of revenge do we get?

Kempe signed and M Anderson to go

Think the Kings need to make some trades they have too many players on the bubble and others making too much money for what they bring. Other than that they have a serious logjam at RD. What do you tell Spence after he played well in LA? And Durzi? Sure LA could ice 4 RD-men. Something has to give. Both Roy and Walker are UFA's in 2 years time and their contracts are reasonable(3.0M and 2.6 M). Maybe the Kings could entice Chicago to part with Patty Kane. They'd have eat part of 10 M though. Perhaps in March or TDL!
