True, soft 60 point one way players are hard to find! But how will we replace his production???
You do know you are on HF Boards....judgment will be passed at the drop of a hat.Yeah I think it will be a fun off-season for sure. Lots of moving pieces. I hope everyone can wait until the dist settles before passing judgment.
Yes this is a serious post. Explain yourself. What moves did he make that were bad when announced?
Hindsight is 20/20. I already said Buchnevich. What rentals were a failure? Tarasenko? Mikkola? Copp? Vatrano? Motte? Braun? Kane was clearly a byproduct of Dolan, he had moved on to other moves already.
We know his bad moves. Buch, Nemeth, Goodrow (and everyone said he was 3 and done, and that happened). Tell me what other moves shouldn't have been done. The Mika extension? They lost on Eichel and where would you find a guy that was coming off a 90pt season at center?
All everyone bitched about all offseason was figure out whatever you need to do to get rid of Trouba and Goodrow, and that exactly what he wanted to do! He did the dirty work of getting Goodrow done and tried with Trouba until his agent stepped in. Everyone wanted Laf extended after the postseason, he did that too.
Please explain what moves make Drury ineligible to be the GM of this team. I've mentioned 3 bad moves. That does not disqualify him.
The Rangers very rarely make announcements regarding contract extensions for executives or staff members. It’s close to never.
So Wednesday’s late day announcement from Garden CEO Jim Dolan of Chris Drury’s “multi-year” extension as president and GM can certainly be interpreted as a firm message to the players as to who is in charge in the wake of Monday’s exit day meetings and discourse.
It also sends a message that the hierarchy recognizes that rebuilding the Rangers into Cup contention is not necessarily a quick-fix scenario. There has been instability behind the bench with each of the last two coaches lasting only two seasons but extending Drury creates stability in the front office.
Idk why people keep getting mad at me when I tell them Drury isn’t going anywhere. Dolan understands the entitled players are the issue. Promising development.
Drury has free reign to build a team as he wishes
Came here for your reaction. Taking it better than expected!
The ironic thing is that Drury is as entitled as they come

@Machinehead It’s time to storm the cap…I mean MSG and give James Dolan a piece of our mind.
How did you get Reddit out my post. When did this place become Reddit?

If they behave they way they did, absolutelyYeah, spiting your employees should always be priority number one
Having to use Goodrow in 3 straight playoffs where he was the worst NYR skater every time is certainly not breaking even. That’s an error you just can’t correctWHO. SIGNED. GOODROW. TO. THAT. SHITTY. CONTRACT. IN. THE. FIRST. PLACE?
He corrected his error. That's a feather in his cap? No, I call that breaking even.
