Xhekaj wiping the grin off Tkachuk's face made it still all worth while.
Xhekaj’s best game in my opinion. He was a physical force in the defensive zone crushing a number of Senators, was calm with the puck, made numerous excellent outlet passes and had several scoring chances. His best game by far.

Well I thought Devo was pretty good tonight and I thought Monty played pretty well, wish he could have saved on that Pinto goal. Slaf got an assist so good on him, bad penalty however. 1st line seemed to lose steam after the 1st, but overall I can’t bitch too much! Next game boys!

Interesting stat
Slaf 4:03 PP time
Caufield 4:04 PP time
Suzuki 4:19 PP time
It needs some serious work. You could see they have had very few reps together. Using Suzuki as a bumper has to be the stupidest thing I've seen on our PP's. You want the plays going through him as much as possible and he barely touches the puck as a bumper. Slaf is the ideal bumper and will cause all kinds of havoc in that position. They may get it yet. They just have to read more HF.

When Drouin, Hoffman or another forward miss passes at the blue line that wouldn't have gone through if it was any D, they'll always get hate. They get double hate when it happens at critical moments.
Let's not kid ourselves, even if that miss never happened, we would still have the same posters shit on Drouin like they always do.

Sum Beach was handing PPs to Sens like it was popcorn. :)
Bad reffing all round. Horrible hooking call on Harris late in the third and that hand ( back of the elbow) pass? I don’t usually comment on the referees (it’s usually a losers’ lament) but tonight they altered the course of the game.

Nevertheless give this young team credit for making this a game.

Drouin ending up on the point after he comes back from a long injury is a disaster waiting to happen. If he starts scoring goals, he'll shut people up. I'm skeptical he can.

It starts with the faceoff. Since we lost Monahan we basically lose 80% of our initial faceoffs on the pp. Then we lose 30 seconds passing back to our zone 2-3 times.

Once in the opponent's zone we are way too static and we only have 2 players shooting the puck.
We also pass too much. Simplify the game, shoot and go for tne deflections or rebounds. That may hurt though so no...let's stay in the perimeter.
