I missed the press conference. Anyone have a link that actually has it? The sportsnet one appears to have been live only. Apparently it would kill them in this day to keep the video up to be re-watched in its entirety a little bit later.

Honestly, I am still in shock trading the one guy I thought was untradeable. And today dumping Nate. Markov is closing in on 40. I hope we are making smart moves. I'm glad to get another scorer but if we lose Rads and or Galchenyak what are we gaining?

If we lose those two, nothing. 1 step forward 2 steps back.

I dont get how and have 0 understanding how Sly gets to keep his job in a Team Move . It is the cleanest time to bring someone in especially when Sly's contract was up .

ST John/Hamilton has been a failure in winning and developing

The reports that are coming out is that Sly is trying to get a job as an assistant coach in the NHL and that MB/Sly are waiting to see if Sly will get such a spot somewhere.

But in my opinion, there's something not quite right with the above picture.

I think MB has already replaced his good friend Sly. He has told him he can't bring him back for another season. But he won't divulge that publicly yet because that would turn Sly into a lame duck and make him less interesting to another team. The reason I think this is because Sly could have signed a deal with MB to coach Laval already. There's no reason not to. It's not like such a deal would prevent Sly from signing with a NHL team if one manifested interest. NHL teams don't stand in the way of a promotion. Plus it makes MB look bad and desperate to wait for Sly to make Laval into his fall back position in case he can't get a job at the NHL level. Then Sly would be headed back to our AHL team, tail between his legs ? Makes no sense not to have signed a deal already and to be waiting to see if he can get a job at the NHL level.

It would be hugely disappointing if Sly was back. I won't believe it until it happens. This entire situation smells funny. I can't imagine with the dismal results of our prospects, that nothing would change with the drafting and development.
