I don't think we suck. I think we are the Buffalo Sabres if the U18. This tournament is a disaster for us.

I like the team we have building here and can't wait to watch them. But watch us best Sweden and lose to Jamaica the next day lol

Sucks no benak.and nestrasil but it's be cool to do well without our top forwards (in this draft).

Katolicky played thats good, Dravecky seems to be on fire, but he only scores against Slovaks lol, so lets see how he fares against other teams. Kachlir with a goal too, hope he will make the final team. Cerny will also be great at this level, he may never be drafted, because he is so tiny, but he has some skill and amongst his peers he really stands out. Rozsival on fire too.

Now bring in Mrtka, Novotny and Pekar, and somehow sneak Benak out of US and lets go for a medal lol

I'd be surprised, he was outmuscled in his own zone rather easily by a slovak team missing all good players

Yeah probably bigger guys will get there instead of him, but I would really love to see him there. He has more skill then half of our D combined.

I would say Mrtka, Dravecky, Cerny, Seidl, Malinek are locks and then there will be battle for those last few spots, maybe he will squeeze in there.

He really lacks those physical proportions at the moment and I would be surprised if he ends up in the final nomination. In the end, it could even be dangerous for him, I would be really worried about him.

Well its strange though, he played U20 league for at least half a season, se I guess he should be used to and strong enough around older guys. Otherwise Liberec coach would not leave him in the U20 squad no? Also (this is pure just from statwatching) he seemed to be doing more then okay at that level for his age.

Its a shame, I hope he grows and get stronger, that would be another top skilled D wasted just because he is tiny.

There will probably be a difference between the level in the junior league and here in this national team. I didn't see the whole match, but there was a case where he very easily lost the puck at the board because the opponent was stronger. And maybe in matches against overseas teams it can be even more noticeable. But maybe he will be in the team in the end, I have no idea what the lineup will look like in the end.

I don't know if they are a candidate for a gold medal, but they are definitely a candidate for a medal. It depends on the mood the team plays in, the last world championships were disappointing, especially after a very good start to the season and performances at the HGC. But this is the best team on paper in a very long time.
