Thats because there is no deal that is realistic. Drai doesn't have a trade value. If asked its likely 6-7 solid pieces, 3 if them blue chip/ solid 1st line NHLers and some picks. Would someone pay that? No, they would be stupid to lol
No offense, but that's stupid. There isn't a player in the league that is worth 3 1st line players and 3-4 additional "solid" pieces.

25 yr old Hart winners with 4 years on a value contract don't get moved. Trade us your best player for a quantity deal if that's such a great idea. We'd even overpay in value (quantity wise).

The Bolded is absolutely hilarious.
I'll happily trade you Brady for an overpay quantity deal. We killed the Karl deal, and I'd stand by that even if he was still putting up Norris type seasons.

Not even close. Think more like Tkachuk, Chabot (with some retention for cap purposes), Sanderson, and your 1st to get the discussion going. When’s the last time an established top 2 player in the league got trade in their prime? Gretzky?
If by top 2 you mean the greatest that has ever played. And that trade was a wash.

You killed the Karlsson deal cause he was injured and no longer the elite D he once was. San Jose had no chance of winning this trade cause he's nowhere near the D he was before the ankle issue. Brady is healthy and 21. Let's do this deal.

Ottawa offers: Tkachuk + Norris + 1st round pick in 2022(no protection)

If Tkachuk goes, it wouldn't be a bad idea to staple his best buddy to him. That 1st round pick is another prime asset. I mean, I don't see any team offering more than that. Yes Draisaitl is elite but this move would give the Oilers a new team direction. They could also use a first round pick (theirs or Ott's) to further improve.

Stutzle-Draisaitl-Batherson
Formenton-Pinto-Brown
Paul-White-Ennis/Sokolov
Sanford-Tierney-Watson

Drai is great but maybe it would be better for the Sens to keep their 3 pieces.

Are you kidding? You’d have to offer Stutzle, Tkatchuk, Norris, 1st 2022 & 2023 to even get the Oil to think. You don’t just get a 110 pt in 71 gm C for a “fair trade”. You over pay by A LOT

Jack Eichel is thought to be worth 4 firsts...

Do you realize how many firsts this package is worth?

Stutzle, Tkachuk and Norris aren't worth "a first" and that's it.

Tkachuk, Chabot, Sanderson + 1st doesn't get the discussion going. It closes it right away

Oilers don't have to trade Draisaitl and it's ok if they are asking a king's ransom but no team should pay anything like that.

I agree Oilers don't have to trade Drai and Drai is definitely worth alot more than Eichel. Eichel doesn't have a hart.

To be honest I don't think either team does this.

I think Edmonton will scoff at any offer for Draisaitl, and I actually think from a Sens perspective this may make us worse.

First of all, I have absolutely 0 interest in a player with the last name Tkachuk.

Second. Oilers trade Draisaitl, a top 3 player in the league on a good contract and good friends with McDavid.

Any deal involving him has to make the team better NOW because if it doesn't how stoked you think McDavid will be with Draisaitl gone and waiting more years to get a cup?

A combination of phenomenal, cost controlled, young current NHL players.

Couldn't agree more. The me first attitude of these players (just like the father) wouldn't be welcome in my team.

Drai for tkachuk ++ is laughable

The original offer has the Oilers giving up a guy that significantly out scores both of the forwards coming back COMBINED. I don’t think you understand just how massive the gap is between Draisaitl and any of the assets offered. Again, when’s the last time a top 2 player in the league was traded in their prime?

Wow. Ridiculous. My package is very close to fair. You're getting a winger that is very hard to find and would add an element to your team that you don't have. On top of that you're getting a 2C to play behind McDavid. And a 1st rounder which will probably be around the 10-15. That's solid. If Edmonton forecasts that they won't be able to sign Drai and McDavid long term without handicapping the team; they'll do this trade.

But Mcd and Drai are signed long term and Drai is signed to a very reasonable number. Lots of players producing less like Ratanen are getting as much or more than Drai.

Drai is a UFA in 4 years and will ask for 11M+
The trade will allow them to be more flexible with the cap

No, like bringing in rental like Hertl or Forsberg to make a push for the Cup.
A 1st doesn't get Hertl. So the equation is more like Edmonton gives up Drai for Tkachuk and Hertl as a rental for 1 season as he's going to want more than 8 million, Tkachuk looking like he wants 8 mil. So contradicts if Edmonton can't see affording Drai and Mcd long term where they end up spending a lot more or significantly shortening their window.

So that gives them a 4 year window. Also 11 mil isn't that much when cap goes up which it should. So they should feel like a young gymnast or someone who does yoga.
