Why not? It is going to take Desnoyers a while to develop mark my words. He will more than likely be worth the wait, but going to be years.

Dude is producing well in the Q but we’ve seen that not translate recently. It’s a weak league.

Any of Misa, Schaefer, Frondell, Martone, Eklund, or Hagens would be a great pick with little bust chance. Desnoyers, idk

I did say almost.......Btw, as I watch more think there is a lot there to develop as he is very smart, and has good technique in almost everything, but think he lacks dynamic skating ability, so a reach at 4.

Reminds me of a combination of Jordan and Eric Staal.

Desnoyers centered McKenna and Martone at the 2024 U18 Gold Medal Game against Hagens US Squad. Schaefer played for Canada also.

Keep recommending to people to watch the ****ing game on Youtube.

I
You haven’t watched him, per you.

Also why is he moving up based on the executives in attendance?
watched a clip last week and basically everything I could find last night. Yes that is like staying at a Holiday inn, but at least I looked.
This guy has everything: the brains, the heart, the good fundamental skating stride the subtleties, the anticipation etc but his skating and physical skills are not overwhelming. He is similar to Krejci in that way, but he has even more in his bag. Krejci took a while and so will he.

As for the execs, the teams figure to finish between fourth and eighth pick. (Btw Bobby Mac has Desnoyers rated at 10.)

The list go's on but you get my point

Let's not forget Borje Salming.

2/3rd of one of the best and least recognized lines the game has seen

He had 5 points vs McKennas 20 and Martones 17

Is that good? I’d much rather have Martone.

Porter Martone- NHL Draft Projection

While the first overall conversation might be a longshot after a scorching hot start to the season, Martone should still hear his name early on in the draft. Most outlets don’t have him any lower than the fourth spot, which would be an ideal spot to take him given his power-forward game, leadership presence and mindset. No matter who selects him, they’re getting a player that’s a hard worker and brings a winning mindset.

He sure does, the only negative Ive seen is a knock on his skating

"Martone isn’t the quickest skater and he does need to improve his agility and footspeed," but he makes up for it with his deceptive and high-end puck control. He’s a nightmare for defenders as he’s difficult to contain with his hands in tight spaces and ability to get around players with ease. His size allows him to shield the puck extremely well, driving to the high danger area and power through to the open ice. He excels at making and executing plays in tight, drawing a number of players in to open things up. He’s an effective playmaker as he’s always spotting seams and making crisp tape-to-tape passes.
