That's interesting considering the postseason each are having, statistically.

Desnoyer: 7GP - 5 - 9- 14pts

Obrien: 8GP - 2 - 6 - 8pts

I wonder what cause Obrien to rise like that. Given the choice I prefer him to Desnoyer. He's got such good playmaking skills, he looks like Krejci to me in some instances with the feeds he makes
O'Brien had a great second half of the season.
Martone was the opposite, that is why he fell. He got off to a awesome start of the season and faded a bit past Christmas.

Figures.

Someone posted if the Sabres lose they improve their spot from #9 to #6. They have a a major incentive to lose.
Sure they do, but you can't tell the players that. they are at home and I think the more talented team. Short of benching players I would put my money on Buffalo. Guess we find out soon.

When management waved :surrenderthe goal was to get into the bottom 11 and get a shot to move up.

But players don't embrace tanks

Hey I hear ya - I wouldn't expect players to mail it in. If they are iced, they shouldn't. Whether top guys should have been sent to PIT is another question.

What I was really getting at was that we are going to end at either 4th or 5th last, when if we had only 3 more points we could be looking at 9th. Shows how thin the margin was, and how a lot of things went "right" with the tank despite the frustrating points they got in the last 2 games.

Let's will this into existence. My morale is low thinking about picking 6 or 7. I really don't love Desnoyer or Obrien. For me, it's Misa, Hagens, Frondell or bust, so winning the lotto would be quite nice.
I have the same feeling, but for me I am more comfortable with them drafting 1-4, anything under that makes me nervous 😬

Sure the point is more relative to saying Philly would absolutely lose s to not mess up their pick. Buffalo has as much if not more incentive.

These ranking are likely the culmination of a few months of data, and the playoffs likely are not , or just barely factored in

O’Brien getting lot of attention ~ the Krejci vibe someone brought up seems appropriate, even a right shot, similar build center

Today in Athletic

O’Brien has been an excellent junior player as a leading player on a top OHL team. O'Brien displays the high-end patience and vision to hold onto pucks for an extra second to make difficult plays and run an NHL power play. He's extremely skilled with the puck, showing the soft touch and quick hands to create a lot of scoring chances and improvise on difficult plays often. He's a decent enough skater. His game can lack pace at times in part because he pulls up to make his skilled plays too much, but when he gets going, he moves well. O'Brien isn't overly physical, but he gets to the net to create chances, can kill penalties and isn't a pushover. He projects as a very good top two line center who could score a lot in the NHL.

Desnoyer plays in the Q, known for big offensive numbers.

If they win the lottery who is everyone’s selection?
If they won the lottery I would see if San Jose or Chicago would toss us their 2nd rounder to swap picks. Especially San Jose. Then I take Misa after they take Schaefer. Something like that. Schaefer will be great, but he's not really what we need. If there's no deal you take him though and maybe move some roster pieces we currently have.

That’s what Dom says but there is no guarantee San Jose is willing to give up assets for shaefer over misa. And maybe San Jose knows the bruins want a centre and don’t bother knowing they still could get him.

Ya know, Dom.. I've been told I have a certain way with words before.. But I have no idea why he would be willing to share details like that to some random guy on the internet haha.

Looks like he already has an article about Caleb and the Bruins. itch = scratched.
I'm an old fart. Can you post the article for "old farts" like me please!?!

I know for a fact that Bob Wetick likes O'Brien. His words "but not in the top four".

I guess I should have asked him if he likes him at 5.

I will have to get a hold of Reed over the weekend who had a chat with Sweeney when DS went to Brantford to see O'Brien personally.
So they clearly got 4 guys on their radar which probably bunmed them out dropping to 5 hopefully temporarily

Wonder who they are
