NHL Draft lottery race - Bruins currently have 4th Pick

I definitely do not want to open the 2015 Can of worms again, but just want to point out that only one was the actual reach and supposedly a result of 'smartest- guy- in- the- room' syndrome. The other 1st round whiff was a consensus player to go right around where he was picked.
Everyone and their dog was saying take Connor with 1 of those 3 picks.I never liked the Zboril pick either having saw a crapload of him b4 that draft

As of today, it is very tight from the 4th bottom spot to the 9th. They will not catch the Isles or Wings and will not go lower than 4th.

I am rooting for the rare chance to get the #1 pick Matthew Schaefer and what the experts say

“Scott Niedermayer and Miro Heiskanen were mentioned on more than one occasion.

“Think a left-shot Cale Makar,” added another. Others included Luke Hughes, Rasmus Dahlin, Shea Theodore and Zach Werenski.”

“No one wants to saddle him with the burden of unrealistic expectations, but when the NHL scouts were asked to identify NHL players with similar playing styles, not to be confused with anyone saying he will be a Hall of Famer or Norris Trophy winner, the comparables were quite favourable.“

If the Bruins keep icing the roster they do I think they will naturally lose out. Keep games against the Pens and Sabres on the road, which is great because the Bruins might not win another road game this calendar year.

Losing out will tie them for the longest losing streak in NHL history with the two worst teams of all time (74-75 Caps and 92-93 Sharks). I don’t think they’ll lose out, but 4 points or less would be easily doable

While I do agree this is the NHL and anyone can catch a team off guard, I also think that since the trade deadline sell off added with the injuries on the team.. The team being iced is most likely the least talented roster in the NHL.

Pasta has double the points of Zacha (the second highest point scorer on the team). Beecher hasn’t scored a goal, that didn’t bounce off his ass, since God knows when and they keep trotting him out there.

It’s obvious what management’s intentions are here.

I agree 2015 was a huge mistake from 10 years ago..

Can anyone name me any GM that hasn't made bad picks, or wish they had taken someone else ?

Ours came in same year, so it's magnified but people make it sound like drafting is an exact science and Bruins are the only ones to ever make bad picks
Your right, there isn't a GM who hasn't regretted not taking a player, but there's only on who can say he regrets it on 3 consecutive first round picks, in the same draft year.

It’s more that none of the teams left on the schedule have anything to play for, even playoff position, and three would also benefit from losing.

Yeah I’ve checked him out and he looks like the real deal. My concern there is he seems to be more of scorer than a playmaker? Maybe I’m wrong there.
They need a scorer more than a playmaker, because you can make the play but if no one can complete it, makes no difference.

Maybe. I watched the Panthers - habs games and to me Marchand looked a step behind all night. He just didn't look like the Marchand I've been used to seeing. It Could be because he's still fighting to get into game shape after being out for an extended period of time, but of note I don't think Maurice was to impressed either or he realizes Marchy is still rounding back into game shape, because even without Barkov and Tkachuk out of the line-up Marchand still wasn't on the ice, when the panthers pulled their goalie with over 2 minutes to play. Marchand went on for the last face-off with around 11-12 seconds left.

I don't think he's a Bruin next season unless he drops his demands on what he's asking for, but we'll see.
I hope you are right, this team needs to move forward and a 37 year old with multiple surgeries is not helpful.
