NHL Draft lottery III - Bruins locked into 5th before ping pong balls.

not a chance in hell I move Lohrei, put him under a stable situation with a healthy top 2 D pairing back from injury, he`ll be fine
Would you trade the first assuming it’s 5th and lohrei for the first over all pick? I would in a heartbeat. Could draft Schaefer who probably easily replaces Lohrei or misa who could be a franchise centre. I like Lohrei. I just get really excited at adding a player like misa.

If we stay at 5th I'll breathe a sigh of relief we move up doritos and kfc and we drop to 7th bring out the pepto.
Good analogy,
The hockey gods will be nice and keep us at 5 worst case scenario.
Any pick 1-5 should be playing in the NHL next year, with the exception of Hagens. I would keep him in his program for another year.

All of 1-7 is good but if you are expecting any of them to come in instantly and move the needle you are likely dreaming. Sure, some of them might be able to play in the NHL right away but they won't be 1 or 2C ready. You're still likely looking at using Mittelstadt as a placeholder for a year unless Poitras/Minten are really ready and take the jobs. Then Mittelstadt goes to the wing or gets traded.

Next year is a very interesting year. I really have no idea at this point if the Bruins can compete right away with good moves or if it'll be another year or more to make that happen. I think we are on the right path, but a lot of things have to go right and good decisions have to be made to get this going again.

One thing I am resolute on though is we have to stop trading first round picks away at deadlines. That philosophy got us here and overall didn't really work for us either. If it had worked, we'd have some cups.

sure, problem is, highly doubt a team passes on Schaeffer for Lohrei

Ya I agree. I doubt anyone trades 1 for 5 plus lohrei. I did read San Jose was interested in trading down though. Maybe they don’t want misa or Schaefer? Maybe they want Eklund ? Then maybe there could be a bidding war for the San Jose pick.

7 is tenable for me. I'd rather be in the top 6 but Eklund and O’Brien are in that top 6 in many places. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mrtka go top 6 in the least.

I still can't believe (but i also can) that the Bruins took their final game to OT and then lost
And that some of us stayed for the overtime and then stayed even longer for the grim shirts off their backs ceremony:rolleyes:

Thanks for the update.
Correct me if I am wrong, but Desnoyers played against the weaker teams in the "Q", being in the Eastern Conference?
The top two teams were in the Western division and overall the talent is better.
Scouts need to take this into consideration when evaluating him / along with his stats.
I watched the majority of the goals he scored this year on youtube and I would say at least 50% were very weak goals that any decent goalie would have stopped.
Not knocking the player, however, based on what I have read and watched, if Frondell, Eklund or Martone are around for us to pick, I would take one of them vs Desnoyers.
He is currently also leading the Q playoffs on scoring 22 points in 11 games. The East does have good team as well like Rimouski and the west has weaker teams too such as Gatineau, Victoriaville.

In general I don't think the value is there, but if you love a guy, have ranked in the top 15-20, then maybe the value would be there, but in general I think you are just better off taking your two chances in the 50s and maybe one of the lottery tickets pays off
I know most people would not say to draft a goalie that high, but if Ravensburgen is there in the 2nd, I would take him.

Just in from Game 2 Huskies vs Wildcats, a 2-1 Wildcats win. Loke played a fairly sound defensive game, did not really notice him much, which is a good thing for a Dman. Desnoyers not on the score board this game, he did set up a couple nice passes that teammates did not score on, he was also good on the defensive side of things. Zonnon had the lone goal for the Huskies and seemed like a threat all night, this guy should be ranked higher than he is.
