NHL Draft lottery III - Bruins locked into 5th before ping pong balls.

Trade the farm and go big and get misa and build around him. Could be our auston matthews moment here. Trade our 1st pick 2025 our 2026 1st round pick our 2 2nd rounders this year and leafs 2026 1st round pick. That should be enough to get that 2nd overall pick.

If San Jose lost the lottery and fell to 2nd I could see them trade down to us on draft day if Schaefer went first and draft Vic Eklund (Williams brother). We then get the coveted centre in Misa. It would be expensive but I could see it.
I can't see Greir reaching to take another undersized forward. Regardless of family connections.
While it's possible. That SJ might be willing to trade down a few spots. I find it much more likely they will stay put and select whichever of Schaefer or Misa that falls to 2nd.

Standing pat is always the safe play and in this case probably wise. But it’s also the reason we have ten teams in this league that have never won a cup and close to twenty since it was cool to be in a band…

I still want Desnoyers, unless we move into the top two. I also think we should go heavy on D.
Almost impossible, flyers will take him
The only way bruins choose before them is winning the lottery and if so they will take scheafer or misa
We should name the « 1 point of game 82 » the Desnoyers point because that could be the consequence

I don't pretend to know any players future.
But as if now, there seems to be a clear step down after picks 1 and 2.
Grier seems to prefer bigger players whenever its possible. Hence, my comment on V. Eklund.
Grier has done a good job of restocking the prospect pool for the most part. I would find it hard to believe he's looking for quantity over quality

Not a chance he doesn't take one of Schaefer, Misa, Martone, and the center gang of
of 4 or Eklund.

Same thing as Sean Day
Not sure what your point is here. Dom, you know Misa is not a Sean Day. Why bring that up? Misa had 10 points less than Crosby in his draft year. Misa's 62 goals tied him with Patrick Kane for draft eligible players. 3rd most in a group that includes Tony Tanti and Lindros. Beating a dead horse doesn't push the conversation ahead.

Just realizing now that the Bruins don't currently own their own 2nd rounder (37th overall). Part of the Orlov/Hathaway trade. Ugh.

They do own picks 51 (originally St. Louis but has changed hands multiple times) and 55 (Carolina to Colorado to Boston). from the Frederic and Coyle deals respectively.

They do have their own 3rd rounder (69th) so 4 picks in the top 70.

Anyone think that Poitras could be shopped in trades? I think if we draft a Center with our top pick, then guys like Faranacci and Locmelis could surpass him.
John Farinacci is three years older than Poitras and has basically been a 0.5 PPG player in the AHL. The only thing he will be surpassing Poitras at is becoming a group 6 UFA next summer.

Farinacci isn’t even close to poitras. He is way too slow for the nhl imo.

Desnoyers will be in my city this week against Huskies ! Will look carefuly
And after the 3 firsts picks i would not be surprise if the habs make a very strong offer to get Desnoyers
Theirs 2 firsts round and two good prospects! They see Desnoyers as the missing link for years and a local guy who become and immediate hero , they evaluate him much better than Suzuki !!! They will push hard for sure and they have tons of pucks and prospects

Why would Philly move their fourth to Montreal?

Absolutly all depend of the offer !
I am not sure other teams are very impressed by poitras anyway, he could develop in an interesting 3rd liner and pp specialist nothing much more …the ultra mediocre pool of bruins give him more attention

For an very strong offer by exemple
If habs offers theirs choices 16-17 and 2 strongs prospects i
Don’t say they will accept i say habs will push very hard
Philly needs a centre badly. I don’t see it happening.

But hey I see poitras as a top 6 player and you think he is nothing more than a third line player. So I doubt we will ever be on the same page.
