He was easily the best player on latvias J20 team. Then there are those that were when he was starting in the J20 Nationell.

That’s not happening. Bruins would never pass on him at 5.I can see Hagens falling past the Bruins, possibly to 7th or 8th.
A combination of Hagens not having a huge year at BC and players like Frondell, Martone and Desnoyers moving past him.Why do you think that would happen?
Seems very unlikely to me.
Im not talking the wjc. I'm talking the junior team in Sweden he played for.He was easily the best player on latvias J20 team.
i am not a scout but my couch gm list is:My top 8, everyone has their own opinions but this is how I draft.
1-Misa
2-Frondell
3-Schaefer
4-Martone
5-Hagens
6-Desnoyers
7-Eklund
8-O'Brien
My dividing line for safe, impact player to not so sure is Hagens at 5. The top 4 I see being impact NHLers, the others I could see being good players but not play drivers or game changers.
I can honestly say I haven’t watched even one of those games.Im not talking the wjc. I'm talking the junior team in Sweden he played for.
Fair enough.A combination of Hagens not having a huge year at BC and players like Frondell, Martone and Desnoyers moving past him.
No Misa has a special exemption to come into the league a year earlier because of far advanced his skill level was. John Tavares , Aaron Ekblad, Conner McDavid other examplesI think he turned 16 in February of his OHL rookie season, right? So he in normal circumstances was in 10th grade?
He was 15 when he joined Saginaw not 14. He was granted exceptional status. No Misa has a special exemption to come into the league a year earlier because of far advanced his skill level was. John Tavares , Aaron Ekblad, Conner McDavid other examples
I don't disagree with that. Crosby was generational prospect who became a generational player though and the only prospect at his level in the past 20 years was McDavid imo. I'm certainly not knocking Misa, he's a great prospect who will most likely be a great player.Still considered to be a star on any NHL team going forward.
Don't forget Sean Day.No Misa has a special exemption to come into the league a year earlier because of far advanced his skill level was. John Tavares , Aaron Ekblad, Conner McDavid other examples
Saw Sean Day play a few times in junior. Good size kid. Quite a fluid skater. Just never lived up to the billing.Don't forget Sean Day.
I can see why you say that, but he is bigger than Barry and growing. He also does a lot more work from closer to the net.Misa is some ways reminds me of former Bruin Barry Pederson.
Misa had 134 points this year. Has NHL height. I think he is around 175 pounds. Probably bulk up a bit before playing in the NHL. It's a hell of a jump from Major A to the NHL. Watching Major A playoffs which are on now. If you swatch to a NHL game the difference in speed is incredible.I don't disagree with that. Good point. My point was Misa came into the league early as the league deemed he could handle the move in speed , size and physicality. He was 15 when he joined Saginaw not 14. He was granted exceptional status.
He was born Feb 2007 and played his first game in the 2022-2023 season which made him 15.
Oh definitely and a lot of junior players can't hack it in the AHL or even ECHL. I love watching the OHL nonetheless and going to the games is so much cheaper than going to one in Toronto, Buffalo or Detroit.Misa had 134 points this year. Has NHL height. I've heard before that he wasn't passionate about hockey but that could be bs. I think he mainly got early exception status due to his size and skating ability that you mentioned.Saw Sean Day play a few times in junior. Good size kid. Quite a fluid skater. Just never lived up to the billing.
Absolute madness. 14 year old vs 19-20 year olds. It’s actually crazy.Yo imagine being 14 in the f***ing OHL or whatever major junior league
