NHL Draft lottery III - Bruins locked into 5th before ping pong balls.

You don’t like poitras or Locmelis?

I think the bruins have some high end prospects. Maybe not a misa or Schaefer but obrien or martone are still projects. One needs to work on strength and not forcing plays apparently and the other one has a lot to work on with his skating apparently. Not to say they won’t be star players but the two prospects in the ahl are putting up very nice numbers while playing responsible two way hockey. The two ahl players are close to nhl ready I would say. Maybe you’re valuing potential upside more than nhl readiness. I put Locmelis and poitras in the high end prospects list.

One thing I’d love to add is speed. Which one of these players would be fast in the nhl. Is there data for me to use to determine which players are fast on the forecheck? Another that shows how fast they can skate with the puck on their sticks?

Google tells me:
Schaefer
Misa
Frondell
Hagens
Cullen porter
Jackson smith

So the good news is it is likely the bruins do end up with one of those prospects. Misa would be the dream. The second best option to me is Hagens. Then I don’t know. Maybe Frondell or Desnoyers(even though he is probably taken by Philly and isn’t on googles speed list)

I can see the bruins snagging Schaefer because teams pass on him because he hasn’t played enough and they love Desnoyers, misa, hagens and Frondell too much to pass.

I can see a similar situation with hagens

Teams might like other players too much to pass and he could slip to the bruins. Hagens is also a dream.

I haven’t been this excited about a draft since the seguin draft.

Crazy to think the bruins are picking 1,2, 5th, 6th or 7th.

They are definitely getting a no brainer prospect this draft.
No i don’t say i don’t like them , but we need to be honest they are b prospects like all teams have many many in systems ! If some become good 3rd liners it is very good
Bruins need pure skill guys

O'Brein would be a great forward. Almost 100 points. Decent size with room to grow. Well coached by Jay McKee in Hamilton. Seen him play quite a few times. Might have some Irish in him.
I believe 50 of his points were om the
pp

Not sure of your point. A lot of Bobby Orrs's points or Gretzky's were on the power play. Not that o'Brein is in that realm.
Just an observation? On the same PP as Nick Lardis I believe. They had 4 high scoring forwards, must have been fun.

Eklund is speedy and one of the best forecheckers in class.

I cant mention Donny draft record that's why I would love a fallback plan of trading it for a young stud playing in the nhl. If Donny picks a guy like mcqueen and not even trading down to get him I bet this board will crash.🤣
You say this like picking McQueen is some outrageous thing. I know for some reason he’s some kind of taboo on this board, but I definitely would be able to see the vision at 6 or 7.

Elite prospects has him as the 5th best player in the draft.

If hes your guy then you gotta drop and add a significant asset no way hes top 6. His injury concerns should he considered when selecting.

They also had Jackson Smith at 6, Desnoyers at 10, Frondell at 12, and Carter Bear at 8 which would have been a little high even before the Achilles injury. It’s one of the most daring lists I’ve seen this year for sure.

The way they discuss the prospects it seems like they value offensive creation and upside metrics.

I think that's how they come up with their lists? Idk.

Definitely against the grain rankings, but who's to say they're wrong? I actually kind of see the vision if that's what they value in rankings. I think lists like theirs is what makes this time of the year interesting. If everyone had the same opinion that would be pretty boring IMO.

Brock Boeser going to free agency. Van and him cant come to agreement on contract. Should bruins look at him?
This is one of those "depends on the contract" situations.

Bruins need shooters and it's a fit. However, I don't think the Bruins are in a position to give another Vancouver Canuck a lucrative contract, especially a winger.
