He is good, but I don't see him as a can't miss LD to justify that. We already have Skjei, Rykov, Hajek, Miller, Lindgren e cia, let's see what we have in those and use this draft to fortify our forward group that is not that great when you see them as a whole.
I would be happy with one of Hughes, Kakko, Dach, Cozens, Turcotte, Newhook and Podkolzin (Podkolzin would be my last choice only because he plays for SKA and has a 3 year contract with them.)
The Rangers are going to have 2 or 3 1st rounders again this year along with at least two 2nd rounders. They will certainly have the draft capital to take him if they want him.The more I watch him, the more I want us to go for Dorofeyev. I hope he's available with a late 1st round pick

I want Bowen Byram in a Rangers jersey pretty badly honestly, been a favorite of mine ever since his WHL debut.
If they have multiple firsts again, I’ll definitely go to the draft party this year, even if I’ll be surrounded by people who are upset the Rangers didn’t take their favorite prospect

Wouldn’t surprise me, nor will the ***** fest that would follow.
We’ve beefed up our WHL scouting this year. We’re gonna take a few kids out of that league this year.
I hope Howden has changed their minds on this. I'm gonna fall in love with Dach I think. I wont allow myself to get attatched to Hughes or Kakko lol.If nothing else, just something for the board to consider.
We’re falling in love with the centers, and understanbly so. But looking at the Rangers history, and some of their approaches, I’d say there is a distinct possibility the pick is not a Canadian kid playing junior hockey.
They did add a new WHL scout this year, so the trend of not taking CHL kids in the first round could just be that they didn’t trust/weren’t getting great info from their CHL scouts and have addressed that for such an important yearI hope Howden has changed their minds on this. Not going to lie, the WHL has been fun to watch the last couple of years --- especially so far this season.
Dach and Cozens are having a fun little battle, Byram is right there in the mix. Even a kid like Krebs is having a great season and flying under the radar.
I'd agree fully with the idea this is where they make their money. I don't think Gorton has been perfect but I think he's been most definitely one of the better GMs since his tenure started here at the helm. So I have a lot of faith going forward. I'm even seeing more out of Quinn then I had figured to at this point so I have full trust on him. Olaf is the only issue I have and really we have to wait and see how that truly plays out.Dach’s stat line is so silly that I’m almost disappointed by what Cozens has done so far, despite having an excellent line for a player in is D-1 season.
This draft to me is where they really make their money. They set a bit of a foundation with their last 2+ the TDL, but this year they should have their pick at one of the elite of this class and multiple opportunities afterwards to swing for the fences.

Yeah, but after Kakko, which top prospect is playing in a pro league? Podkolzin won't sniff the SKA squad this season, Broberg is not a top 10 prospect right now... This year top prospect are basically a compilation of the USNDT and the WHL.I've said it before but the Rangers seem to value pro experience a lot when picking high. 4 of our last 5 first round picks played pro hockey when they were drafted. There's a shift in strategy. Let's see if it pays off. That's not to say they'd pass up on a great talent playing junior hockey.

Pretty unlikely that we get either one.you give me jack hughes and arthur kaliyev in the 1st round and im very happy
those 2 give you your centerpiece future 1c and a legit 1st line sniper.
kaliyev is filthy.
13 goals 13 games. 23 points in 13 games. hamilton has a stud.
this kid is the real deal with a pure finishers mentality. is there anyone who gets into scoring position easier and is there anyone who can fire it like this kid ? pure unadulterated sniping.
hughes and kaliyev together. yes please
