How do you compare/contrast him to Kindel?

Double ironically enough, I just finished my Kindel games last night and I'm editing his video for Wednesday.

Kindel is a completely different player. He is much more lethal in-flight. Better hands, better dynamic skill, better skill-chaining. He's also miles ahead of Reschny defensively. So much of what Kindel creates comes off of the back of him playing really sound defensively hockey where he's stealing pucks off reads or harassing someone with his stick. I would say Kindel just looks much more involved to me than Reschny does from the prespective of impact plays and full 200-foot effort. I would say their skating is most on par. They're the same kind of skater. Good cutting, edgework, and lateral ability that enhances their dangles.

That Kindel write-up is really interesting because it makes me think he's more likely to stick at center than a lot of other guys being taken around that pick. My big concern with him is his size, I think it's very difficult for a 5'10" guy to stick at center, but having a strong all-around game and being heavily involved in the game definitely makes me think he is more viable to stick at center.

I'm really excited to see the Kindel video for Wednesday, that seems like a kind of guy I could definitely get excited about with the Rangers 1st. Shifty with a high hockey IQ and a driver at both ends of the ice? Definitely sounds interesting as a future top-6 center.

Very interesting that Kindel’s skating looks good to public internet scouts

And I agree. It looks solid on video

But I keep reading it looks quite bad from people who see him in person.

Reschny seems like a good bet to stay at center. Good skater, good puck distributer, 7th in total faceoffs taken in the WHL and won 56% of them. Bit small though.

I consistently hear skepticism on both Kindel and Reschny with skating. I'm sure some of that is simply being smaller the skating is expected to be better than average to compensate for the lack of size. But I haven't heard anyone say either is a better than average skater. I've also found no attribute is less consistently perceived than skating. Almost every player in the draft outside of the extreme ends of the spectrum has wild opinions on their skating.

That's interesting. I wonder what's translatable to the in-person viewings that isn't with video regarding his skating? Is there any detail they provide on what he lacks?

Can’t remember which episode but HP podcast talked about it in some detail. Just basically it was a lot worse than they thought when they got out to see him.

Another poster in the prospects forum here said he was disappointed live as well.
