Not really. You make smart moves last summer this team is probably in the playoffs.

Just would require Kyle to actually have a pair of balls.
Some of the worst defense and goaltending in the league. No saving this sinking ship. Just a delay of the inevitable.

You gotta be shitting me. Screw it just beat Washington and win the lottery
We're not winning the Lottery, don't deal in fables!

No one is coming to rescue us ok?

The core and Sullivan made it clear that winning meaningless games is far more important than the team getting a core piece THIS coming draft. They don't want to cede power.

And guess what, Dubas helped them do it. He was tricked! He was complicit. His naivety is astounding! He didn't trade Rakell, and he called up the kids, that cost us four points. Look at the standings, those four points are huge in that regard.

THEY did it to themselves.

  1. 52 - SJS
  2. 61 - CHI
  3. 66 - NSH
  4. 76 - (BOS)
  5. 76 - (SEA) - Phi loss -> 6
  6. 76 - (PHI) - loss -> 4 | win, BUF lose -> 7
  7. 77 - (BUF) - win, PIT, ANA lose -> 9 | loss, PHI win -> 6
  8. 78 - (PIT) - loss, BUF OTL+ -> 7 | win, ANA lose -> 9
  9. 79 - (ANA) - win -> 9 | lose, BUF win, PIT win -> 7
I think these are correct.. so we can go from 7-9 based on results, Phi can go from 4-7, Boston will be 4-5, Ana can go from 9-7, Buf can go 6-9.

Bruh they’ve won 4 games in their last 10 they aren’t on some heater. Sucks the teams around them couldn’t win a little bit more but being in the lottery is all that really matters since nobody knows how the draft is gonna shake out yet

If we lose and Buffalo loses to Philly in OT, we are 6th

I'm watching Jesse's YT of Brady Martin.. Love the way he hits. Not dirty or running around but he really drives through guys.

I don't think he linked it yet, here it is

This guy's hard not to like.

I really like him but wonder about the upside

But then again is he that different than a McTavish? Idk.

But I will say I will trust the scouting dept if they go OHL (not that I have a choice but you know what I mean :laugh: )

Those f***in' loser points, maaaaaan. Couple more regulation losses and this team's sitting in such a better spot. f***. :laugh:
It’s pretty f***ing annoying tbh. We suck all year and get like 8th. And the Bs just got wise to sucking and will be top 5. Oh well. Hopefully they f*** it up and we hit a home run.

Yeah I think they most likely end up at #8 now, Buffalo really shit the bed with the games in hand they had on the Penguins.

The Penguins can still finish #7, but it would take a loss against Washington plus at least an OT loss for Buffalo. Not putting my faith in Buffalo being able to do that.

Anything's possible with Sweeney and Neely. Likewise with Briere and Jones. And sadly, probably Dubas and Sullivan. :laugh:

With the way things have gone, and apparently will always go after the deadline when we stink in the Crosby era, I'm just assuming we win tomorrow and everybody else who we want to win will lose so we end up picking 9th.

Disappointing. Only thing to hope for now is reaches ahead of us.

Too many useless games won down the stretch that will end up hurting us. Dallas, Ottawa and in Jersey, 6 useless points that would have had us right now in the top 4 with 72pts. Boston was the big winner in all of this, they probably walk away with Haggens at the draft!!

I still think it's most likely that they get at least Eklund in the draft if their pick falls to #9, it seems like O'Brien and Mrtka are rising a ton going into the draft and that should push Eklund down. I think Eklund is a prime guy to slide between his size and being a winger, I wouldn't bet on him lasting to the NYR pick but I think it's a reasonable bet he lasts until #9.

Obviously you prefer that they end up sitting at #7 or #8 to have a better chance at getting someone like O'Brien or Martone, but I'm not seeing how #9 is some sort of disaster if that ends up occurring.
