Prospect Info: Draft 2025 Habs you're on the clock

Pronman can't scout for shit. He has Schaefer at "above average" skating calisse, you don't need to be a scout to know how skating is minimum elite, probably world class, it's so freakin obvious....unless you are Pronman.
No one said his evaluations on players are credible. He does have sources that gives him real informations about the draft, though. His final mock the morning of the draft are usually pretty close from what will happen.

He has zero true inside contacts. He is no different than any other nerdy type who has never played but has developed an interest in hockey. He has absolutely no understanding of skating mechanics or any details/nuances of the game which is on display every year and literally just makes stuff up about players he may never have watched. The clown gave Romanov one of the lowest rankings for physicality in his entire draft class lol........he likely never watched a single second of him.

Just looking at him and Wheeler should tell you that they don't even have the experience in any competitive sport where you are trying to impose your will physically on your opponent or having to contend with the fear/danger of dealing with violent men and standing up to them and giving it right back to them.

Anyone reading his nonsense and quoting it is a big flag for me. He is so obviously clueless and his connection with the Athletic will provide some connections but I guarantee you that he is getting fringe scouts who are giving him the bare bones. I have had conversations with NHL players, agents, scouts etc and I know exactly how they feel about clowns like Pronman. Because he is with the Athletic they feel an obligation to tolerate him but that is all that is happening.

Lakovic is the softest 6'4 top porospect I have ever watched in 30 years of watching prospect. Even his "hard hits" are soft touch. Very frustrating to watch such a talented and large player playing so often on the periphery. He is not just playing small, he is playing scared. His game kind of reminds me Blake Wheeler but on the softer side.

Mantha was softer and cherry picked more. But that's itm

I disagree, Mantha was not softer, he had a mean side to him. He was just very unidimensional, in a sense that he showed no desire to defend and unable to create for other. Basically a poor man Patrik Laine.

Maybe Logan Brown, could fit that, a skilled 6'7 player with no desire to hit or get hit.

That being said, Lakovic has great raw tools but you do not draft him to provide sandpaper to your lineup.

No you dont. Im surprised they have shown the interest in him they have.

Joe Colborne is another big softy

buddy i can bother with context and nuance. not my fault you can't help but contradict yourself in one of your classic diatribes

The fact that you clearly misunderstood my post is evidence that you are incapable of understanding nuance.......and to double down on it, that is just embarrassing.

Not surprisingly you refer to my contribution as a "diatribe" which further proves my point. You can't be bothered to read anything with nuanced opinion so you cherry pick the parts that you skimmed through and end up replying with intellectually dishonest, lazy retorts.

I suspect you won't be able to comprehend any of this either so I will put you with the rest of your ilk where I needn't be bothered with such silly exchanges.

The idea that Pronman and Wheeler have no cred but we casual posters know better is insane. Pronman and Wheeler have spent over a decade in rinks scouting, watch countless games, know the scouting community really well, know GM's, publish approx. 100 articles a year on prospects and yet we are led to believe they know nothing. Based on what? That they got your favorite prospect wrong? It happens - it happens to NHL professional scouts - no one is immune. Outside the actual amatuer scouts that work with NHL teams, they are as credible as they come. Even Button doesn't watch a fraction of the Pronman and Wheeler and it shows in his list.

The real dangerous ones are the ones that hang around the periphery of the scouting community - that do all their work behind a screen and aggregate multiple reports or guys like Snake that have become a caricature of themselves and every year they have to find a diamond in the rough and elevate them to all star status.

Didn't he just have a growth spurt to that height? Lakovic by no means will be a bruiser, but he reminds me of Pacioretty, who also isn't the most physical (though I noticed more of it when he was playing on the leafs). Long term once he fills out he could be a dangerous offensive player. Not bad for a mid 1st round pick IMO.

Y'a pas assez de scout auto-proclâmé. On youtube they're doing a better job than that guy. He's the worst one out there for mock drafts or scouting.

Some people watch hockey in many time zones and comment thousands of times or even build charts here. I think it's fair to say that pronman is closer to an hfboarder than being a full expert. Oh, and on subjective subject science tells us that the opinion is on the same level, even if you're supposed to be an expert. So yeah Pronman's opinion is nowhere close to the cred that he wishes for.

Not because you got size that you can play physical. You need a robust and stable bone structure to play physical. Size doesn't give you that. Just like size doesn't give you a great slapshot necessarily.

You need the mentality to want to hurt others and not afraid to get hurt yourself, bone structure will dictate how successful you are at. In Kirby Dach’s case he had the mentality but was gun shy last year and I expect him to even become more of a perimeter player when he comes back, he’s just not skilled enough to pull it off. Someone like Armia has never had the mentality to use his frame which is a shame as he could’ve been a beast

I think they move up guys...........just a hunch.
Hughes loves draft days!!

So you are a nerdy type too ?

Does Bob McKenzie’s rankings drop tomorrow? Personally I’d like any of Martin, Martone, Mrtka but unless Hughes can pull a stunner they won’t be available when we draft. Bear and Cootes could help with skill and some added physicality to our prospect pool. Going to be a fun week.
