Prospect Info: Draft 2025 Habs you're on the clock

Because he’s about as ordinary as it gets when you talk about attributes that are not physicality. You can get that type of defenceman later in a draft. LD is also the last position we need.
He has a hell of a shot and some creativity he isn’t making it far down the draft

If you’re 6’1 and not a good skater, you’re going to have a tough time in the NHL. So while he’s physical against teenagers, his edge diminishes greatly once he moves up levels. And he doesn’t have an outstanding trait that he can fall back on. His shot is fine, but so is Mailloux’s and that doesn’t make you an NHLer.

I'll have to go look, I never noticed his skating issues to be honest. Worse than Jackeye?

That maybe true but we aren't trying to pick the guy who has the biggest impact at 17 years old, we are trying to project what they will do at 25. And undersized but physical guy is a package that often doesn't translate well to the NHL. There are exceptions of course, but if the physical play is a big part of their success then it's a concern.
A big guy that doesn't use his size is always a problem and follows players. The problem gets worse when the playoffs roll around as we all know how the game changes. We are trying to pick the player whose game translates to the NHL and a big part of that is physicallity and drive, that will always be valuable in the NHL as we see countless times less skilled players make whole careers out of simple tenacity and physicality.

Not worse than Xhekaj, but Arber is 6’4 and one of the toughest players in the league. Kashawn will be an okay NHLer. Think of someone like Jeremy Lauzon. We wouldn’t be upset to have him in the system, I just think we can fill bigger holes.

I do love his aggressiveness both offensively and defensively. I just wonder how that translates if he gets caught in higher leagues. You do want players that want to make a difference when they are on the ice, it’s just sometimes that player is Mike Matheson.

That is not true at all.

Many kids don't learn how to use their body until they are older especially kids who have always been smaller and experience a late growth spurt. If you are talking about meanness and aggression you have more of a point although nothing is set in stone at all with junior aged players.

I just like those guys with the 'FU' attitude, hard to play against sort of guys.

Do you guys see any similarity Between Roger McQueen and Kirby Dach? Kinda scary to draft a player like him with his history of injury. He can become the steal of the draft at 16th or another bust.

Dach had little injury history coming into his draft year. Not really much similar other than being tall right shot centres. Dach was a heavy playmaker and McQueen is a heavy shooter.

Injuries do not jump from one player to another.

Good, I don't trust the Q

He probably didn't answer one of their stupid ass hypothetical questions correctly..

They're such nerds.

Smh.

Put me down for Bear and Cootes as picks, would be willing to throw in a 2nd rounder to go up a spot or two to make sure we get Bear. I like Ryabkin but only as a 2nd rounder as a boom or bust type, a bit scared his F U attitude might taint Demidov.
