Prospect Info: Draft 2025 Habs you're on the clock

BPA should trump organizational need. But I wonder if the Habs would ever pick players that they have absolutely extremely no organizational need for like Potter and Schmidt, unless they'd fall like a rock to a point where the team really had no choice.

I don't know why thought. 6'5, skates well, can play physical, definitely has the potential to score 25+ goals.

I'm baffled he isn't getting more attention
Russians have been underscouted and there's a stigma around it, that's why guys like Mitchov and Demidov fell

If he was Canadian he'd be in the 10-15 range and someone will draft him between 10-25 IMO just like they did But two years ago, the package is too appealing to drop more than that

Not sure either of them will still be on the board at 41, though. They’ll likely go between the 17th pick and their 41st, sadly.

If they draft with both picks I’d take a chance on one of them at 17.

There’s some interesting players who might be there at 41. Zharovsky, Ryker Lee, Mckinney, William Moore, Cihar.
I like McKinney. He often looks undervalued in rankings.

Yup he's got size and is consistent. Definitely seems like a C. He would be an amazing add at 41... but likely gone.

The thing is that they can't all be gone by 41! This draft is deeper than we thought (Just not at the top...)

How do you guys compare him to West or Nestrasil or even Nesbitt? He's a great skater that's for sure...

Bold Prediction: We take Cootes and Hensler* with picks #16 and #17.

We only take Hensler if we don't use this pick in a package for a 2C at/before the draft.

Islanders could trade down multiple times and still draft Hagens. Add couple extra first round picks.
I would think SJ will make a significant offer to swap picks because they could really use a stud D over another F. I wouldn't be shocked if it's essentially Scahefer for Misa + 30th OA.

I have not seen anything at all from West, I also never got into Nesbitt from limited viewings, skating is very average and offensive IQ looks limited for him to be anything more than a Bjugstad type.

Nestrasil, I haven't gotten into until his recent playoff run where it was clear his stock is on the rise, Prostas comparisons quickly came in but Prokhorov to me brings more physicality, is a better skater and just looks like a player teams want

Maybe I just started following Prokhorov earlier in the season and that's why I favor him

Probably won't move the needle of the Isles favor Schaefer

Cole Reschny !!

That dude a bit like Suzuki will be the top 5 best player of this draft...

Awesome IQ and vision and he is not just a perimeter player and goes in front of the net for deflection etc..

We have to draft him 16th !!!
That's how I see it. He looks like a complete player. I envision that he will top out at close to 6' and 200 lbs, cerebral, creative, clutch, and able to play in all situations. He may be slightly shorter than some of the other forwards at that draft position, but he uses his teammates a lot more, while still a decent scorer in his own right and engaged over 200 feet. Suzuki clone.

Hard to say, the Islanders don't exactly have a deep prospect pool having only made one 1st round pick in the past 5 years so they might value adding late 1st/early 2nds more then other teams. And if that extra 1st isn't enough SJ can keep adding picks, their 2nd rounder is #33 for instance and they have a number of recently drafted late 1st/early 2nd prospects.

The last time I can remember teams swapping picks at the top of the draft was Fleury's draft which was 1st OA + a 3rd rounder for 3rd OA and a 2nd rounder. Which is really not much at all.

...If he falls to us. Hoping that heightism prevails and 15 teams thumb their noses at him.

Zero chance HuGo will take him imo......and he would not "fall" to us at 16, he would be a reach at 16 and could very well drop to the end of the first round.. They absolutely will not select a sub 6'0" forward with either of the first two picks. I expect a forward who is at least 6'0" and perhaps a RHD but possibly two forwards with average to above average size.

If Martin (very unlikely), Bear or Cootes are available these are the smallest forwards that HuGo will even consider that high imo. There is absolutely no room for another small forward in the top six with Caufield already there and their vision of building a Stanley Cup contender.
